I agree with you whole heartedly, unless you're just telling a joke that has it in it.
It shows no class to swear. what the hell

There is a time and place for profanity...in public, in front of children, in civil company....not a good choice. F#%k is not an adjective, a noun, and while it can be a verb..it certainly isnt one to be used in civilized conversation. I cant STAND people who use that word as part of every single sentence...
Stubbing the living heck out of your toe, with your kids present?
MAN OH MAN...thats a tough one....Trying to come up with acceptable alteratives is difficult sometimes. "oh my Freakin....Jesuuuuummmmm Crow....Holy Cripola mola...."
I have become very creative.
My ten year old a couple of years ago was sitting in the back seat, and he had one of those little koolaid drinks where you twist the cap off. He was struggling with it. He finally got it...and it spurted koolaid all over his shirt. (He was 7 at the time...)
He blurted out..."Shit!"....We were sitting at a stoplight...and...APPALLED...I caught his eye in the mirror....and he looked me straight in the eye, and blurted out..."Oooh..Shit"..AGAIN.In a totally different tone of voice....
Oh MY GOD...He SO did not mean to do that...my kids do NOT swear...NOT in front of me they dont...but it was SO an accident....and the second "Oh shit" was totally for being busted for saying shit....We drove in dead silence for five minutes...because...
...I had to bite my tongue for about five minutes to keep from bursting out laughing.
Then we had the conversation about how people who swear really cant think up anything else more intelligent to say. How it reflects on you as a person...ect.ect.ect.....
I dont think swearing makes anyone look better. I do think that sometimes in a really nasty situation...a good ole swear word is better than some of the other alternatives..and yes...sometimes the temper gets the best of you and you blurt out something you SO wouldnt say.....
I think either sex who makes swearing a regular part of their vocabulary doesnt look like an intelligent person. They very well may be smart...but it still doesnt look good.

I know this was for the men, just wanted to put my 2cents in.
I certainly agree that there is a time and place. If I'm all dolled up and going out for a romantic dinner, chances are I'm gonna act and talk like a lady. But in my everyday life I cuss whenever I want to.
I find it ironic that men can say they don't like for women to cuss but they would love to hear a woman say "f*ck me harder baby" is up with?
(grant it not all men like it, just most) JMO

Good thread Muffy. I've often been in forums where the women's language was like a sewer.
Do you think any man of quality reads that and thinks, "Wow, she's a real class act. I can't wait to bring her home to meet my family OR take her to the company picnic OR spend time with my kids.........."

im not far New York City.So ive encounter that type of women quite a bit.It aint pretty.Men learn to pick up on when women are upset.if a woman uses profanity constantly she appears angry and irritated. a clear sign to stay away.

Think about it. All depends on how it's used in a sentence. Can be nasty can be nice. Can be funny. For instance in the heat of passion at the right moment what do alot of women say. F me F me F me!
