Thanks to an average of 500-600+ miles a month of biking on my Brompton folder since September 2010, I'm fairly fit, so it will be helpful if you can keep up with my energy level. It's a big plus if you're a cyclist, but not a dealbreaker if you're not. (I'm not a racer and I don't wear spandex. I just love to ride!)
But first, let's talk about you. As a practitioner of the "Law of Attraction," I focus on what I want, as opposed to what I don't want, so you won't see a lot of "no [fill in attribute]" in my profile.
I won't pretend I'm only attracted to someone's personality or mind, but in fact, that's the most important thing to me after the initial five seconds. So you should be warm, easily given to laughter and smiling, smart and able to hold a conversation, open-minded and a generous soul. It's a plus if you can make me laugh. You're affectionate, sensual, understanding, compassionate, involved. You may have adversaries elsewhere, but with me, you're my partner.
Physically, the most important thing is that you are kissable. Do you have great lips? Then c'mere! I don't have a single type. I could go for a very small, dark-haired woman, or a willowy blonde, or a flame-haired Irish lass; or an entirely different type. I really appreciate a nice figure on someone who takes decent care of herself, but unless you're really overweight, it's not an issue. If you're pretty to me, that's what matters.
I don't have an age requirement, but you're probably within 10-15 years of me in either direction. There are always exceptions. I mean, what if Jane Fonda or Lady Gaga called? Ah, but they're not, so here we go. I'm pretty active, biking all over Manhattan, taking dance lessons, and working out. I am not into the club/bar pickup scene, though I enjoy going to fun bars and lounges with friends or with a date, and I'm always up for a karaoke bar or an open mic. Also, while a woman with children is welcome in my life, having children of my own is not one of my dreams, though I wouldn't absolutely rule it out.
I'm a "contradictorian" (made-up word): I'm very funny, sometimes corny. In some ways I'm very "old school": I live by the Golden Rule; ethics are important to me; and I have an old-fashioned Code of Honor. I have a great relationship with my family. My musical tastes lean towards music that was popular when I was born, like 50's Sinatra and Elvis music, Beatles, 60's rock and folk, jazz and blues, and old-time R&B. I enjoy most other music, other than most rap or "house" (at least not in MY house!). I don't much care for electronic music, either. I still don't understand why anyone even knows who "Moby" is, for example, though we clearly go to the same barber.
I lean neither left nor right politically, though in principle I don't believe that government must solve everyone's problems and I believe strongly in entrepreneurship and individual responsibility. On the other hand, I listen to Howard Stern on Sirius and watch Family Guy, and believe firmly in everyone's right to full, free and uncensored self-expression. I don't force my beliefs on others and accept those that do not infringe on mine; therefore, it won't bother me if we haven't voted for the same people or have opposing views on an issue.
I'm a constant student, taking seminars, reading books and listening to CDs and MP3 to fill my mind. I'm a history and science buff, and enjoy the History Channel, Discovery and True TV.
I'm also a sensualist: that means I delight in sights, smells and touch. This should not translate into something sexual, although this trait certainly affects things in the bedroom! It means I revel in something like chocolate melting in my mouth; a gorgeous sunset; the smell of a garden or your intoxicating perfume; an amazing massage; etc. It's also part of why I love to kiss, hug and hold someone.
I live to make a difference and to make people laugh. I can be a bit of a ham. I've performed improvisational comedy and was twice a semi-finalist in the NY Comedy Festival, and I sing (quite well) and play guitar, often performing with pianists, trios, and even the occasional big band, as well as good old karaoke.
Who I am is the possibility of transformation, laughter and creation.
