A word to the wise, NO PICTURE-NO RESPONSE. Read 557 times if necessary. I do not play mystery match, leave that for the television shows.
Life long Tennessean who has now moved across the state line to an area that is animal friendly and is not concerned with the crusading animal rights do gooders.
My family has been involved in hounds (beagles) since 1946, and in Tenn Walking Horses since 1960. I have 3 Plott hounds and 2 American Foxhounds that I show in AKC while working on my judges license for the scent hounds. My mission ? WESTMINSTER 2011 with my Plott Hounds and the American Foxhound too. The big brown eyed handsome man in the picture above was Major, a 20 yr old, 17H Tenn Walking Horse who was an absolute delight to ride and never had a bad day. He died last summer and is missed tremendously.
Dogs and horses are a part of me and they will remain. We are a package deal. They will stay and it would be great if you did too. So therefore, it will work out best if you are an animal lover. Over the years, I have discovered that animal lovers and non animal lovers do not make a harmonious combination at all. This is one of the non negotiable factors here. I do not expect you to give up your interests and identity to have a life with me. Nor will I give up me to be loved by you. Eventually, no one wins.
My musical tastes vary from Coldplay, Tim Bowman, Urban Knights, Joe Sample, Ray Charles, Nat King Cole, Ella Fitzgerald, Etta James, Patsy Cline,Peggy Lee, Bach, Bob Wills, Ricky Skaggs, Asleep At The Wheel, Little Richard and Chuck Berry to the Grand Old Opry. You name it, I probably have some form of it on 45 RPM or CD.
I'm part girly girl and part tom boy. Dirt does not phase me. Yard work, kennel work, and barn work appeal to me. Housework does not. I'm not a slob but I don't like to be confined to an intense domestic routine. "It's Not Gonna Happen." I do clean up better than adequate and do know the proper use of silverware: place, luncheon, and continental dinner size. But I do have a deep appreciation for Chinette and Solo cups too.
I work, therefore, I do not need to be kept up. However, I will not carry the majority of - or the entire financial load of the relationship. And I do not do all of the driving on dates. Talk about deal breakers, reread this paragraph as often as necessary. I am a no nonsense outspoken individual and there will never be any doubt in your mind about where you stand with me or what I am "thinking about".
Eventually, I plan to get out of this rat race here, have a boarding kennel, show dogs full time, and ride horses as much as possible. If I find the last love of my life who doesn't mind being spoiled and loves hounds and horses as much as I do, then that is icing on the cake. Kids and grandkids are OK and always welcomed. Just don't pull the dogs tails and pick up after yourselves- that's all I ask.
I am not a couch potato. I have to be busy and I make it a point to accomplish something everyday. If you are a couch potato and want to do absolutely nothing but take up space and use oxygen, then you and I would not make a good pair. For the people who continue to ask me when I am going to retire, my answer is "NO TIME SOON". My opinion, for what it's worth, once you retire, you give up and in one way or another, you are waiting to die. Hopefully, it will be years before I retire from work, dogs, or horses. For those who also continue to tell me "You're at an age now where..." blah blah blah... ad infinitum... ad nauseum... I have one thing to say, Buzz Off, Get Some Ambition, find a horse to ride and Get A Life.
My favourite vehicle is a Ford F350 King Ranch Dually-Diesel. Colour is unimportant. That doesn't mean that I will ever be able to own one but I do admire them quite often.
Also, my Plott Hound finished #1 Plott in for 2009, Eukanuba International Invitational Statistics. In AKC stats, he is #2 Breed and #3 All Breed Plott Hound in AKC: end of yr stats 12-31-09. Presently as of April 30 he is still #1 All Breed Plott Hound in AKC.
