I am lonely like a fallen log in the forest.
I fell and never made a sound.
I have lain here for what seems like centuries.
My lichen has slowly been replaced by moss,
My bark has peeled and rotted off in places exposing my soft inner self.
The termites are slowly working their way to my heart,
Destroying me from the inside out.
They feed in me like a life threatening cancer.
Mushrooms have slowly started growing their fairy rings around me, Now grow inside my soft rotting self.
I am exposed to the elements an I have no way to gain back my strong self.
I have seen the years go by slowly, starting from a sprout.
The winter frost and beautiful snow whispering through my boughs.
The sweet rain flowing through my gentle fingers.
Seasons of wind have made me strong.
Mother has taken care of me and I used to see from horizon to horizon,
I now feed my family as they sprout around me.
I have lived a solitary quiet life. Always growing up.
Always growing strong.
Sharing my words only as whispers on the wind.
Enduring any element and outlasting those few fires.
I bear the scars of life's existence
Now, I get to share my words with the world.
Now I get to feed those around me.
Now I get to participate in all the beauty and wonder I have longed for from up high.
I have a secret that I keep.
It's hidden away in the safest place.
The strongest place.
I keep a seed hidden in my heart.
