I think it is better to keep an open mind when meeting people.
"Real" people is a helpful start. Someone who realizes that world is not perfect, and that all of us, have imperfections. Even though we do not like to admit it. It is much better to say that you are not interested in someone than lead them on. Just say 'I'm not interested'. It is that easy.
