Is it wrong to hope?
by angelsinstl at 8/16/2015 6:24:15 PM

I know that this site in particular is basically just for 'entertainment' and I accepted that LONG AGO!!

But is it wrong to HOPE, even when experience proves it's just not gonna happen, that it's POSSIBLE to find a REAL guy online, not yet another scam profile or guy saying one thing and doing another or even just completely disappearing for no apparent reason, but someone genuinly interested, someone that I too want to actually get to know...

Am I diluting myself or should I just accept the inevitable spinsterhood and move on?? The Leo in me struggles with this!

do not ever lose hope, or give up. Quitters never win, stay positive, it will happen when you least expect it.

Far Cry 4 said it best and yes... I'm showing my gaming geek side with this reference! LOL "Do you know what the definition of insanity is?? Doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result" So I MUST be insane... and it is NOT in my nature to quit ANYTHING I set my mind too, but in this situation, I have no control over how 'the other half' behaves so it's frustrating beyond measure! LOL And I'm not a hard woman to make happy... just need to find one guy to restore my faith in the male species agian!! Otherwise I'll have to SERIOUSLY consider switching teams or buying stock in sex toys!! LMAO

No, it's not wrong to hope. Some guys, like myself, have pitched the idea of ever getting anywhere on OLD. We've seen postings like this before. A few men might see this as a remote chance of possibly getting a response. Those who have been here for a while, know better. Been there, done that. We have learned. We find better things to occupy our time with. And let you women to deal with the players and liars.

@purple... this site really is JUST for goofing off... you can't take anyone HERE seriously in the least!! Although many years ago, when I was VERY active in the forums, I did meet a guy and we dated for about 6 months or so!! And I also made some pretty great friends in the forums who I have as FB friends now and chat with in RL regularly!! But... sadly for some of us... Online Dating is the only 'social' outlet we have other than the local pub, which is NEVER a good idea... unless it's $1 taco night, in which case I'm ALWAYS there!

This is convenient. All we have to do is get on. This morning, my day is on hold because it's raining. We don't have to pull ourselves together, and go dashing off to the local watering hole to spend money. Consider yourself lucky that a guy in your area was on the boards, and you liked him. (For a while) No one in my area ever does. I've speculated that, there are several reasons why. They can't type fast, (Heck, two fingers works for me) They don't want to appear dumb, (Which is why spellcheck was invented) Or that they don't know what to say. Judging by the sparkling conversations I've had with various women in my area, That's more the case. We can- Hope for the best- expect the worst- and settle for whatever happens. (Oh, we're also allowed to gripe about it)
