Christian Dating: Biblical Verses About Relationships

For Christians, the Bible is the Word of God. Within its pages, there is a lot of useful advice on a wide range of topics like commerce, culture, government, worship, and even relationships. Nowadays, it’s hard to find a trusted source with great counsel on the matters of love, adultery, fornication/sex, forgiveness, and marriage. Love
“Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye?” (Matt. 5:43-46)

“A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.” (John 13:34) 

“Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.” (Rom. 12:9)

“So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.” (Eph. 5: 28)

“Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.” (1Cor. 13: 4-7)

Adultery
“Thou shalt not commit adultery.” (Exod. 20:14)

“But whoso committeth adultery with a woman lacketh understanding: he that doeth it destroyeth his own soul.” (Prov. 6:32)

“And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.” (Matt. 19:9)

“And if a woman shall put away her husband, and be married to another, she committeth adultery.” (Mark 10:12)

“Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds.” (Rev. 2:22)
Fornication/Sex
“For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders.” (Mark 7:21)

“But that we write unto them, that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood” (Acts 15:20)

“Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that commiteth fornication sinneth against his own body.” (1 Cor. 6:18)

“For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication:” (1 Thes. 4:3)

“But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;” (Eph. 5:3)
Forgiveness
“To the Lord our God belong mercies and forgivenesses, though we have rebelled against him;” (Dan. 9:9)

“Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins:” (Acts 13:38)

“Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.” (Pss. 32:1)

“For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.” (Matt. 6:14-15)

“Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:” (Luke 6:37)
Marriage
“And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.” (Gen. 2:22-24)

“Let thy fountain be blessed: and rejoice with the wife of thy youth. Let her be as the loving hind and pleasant roe; let her breasts satisfy thee at all times; and be thou ravished always with her love.” (Prov. 5:18-19)

“Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favour of the LORD.” (Prov. 18:22)

“When a man hath taken a new wife, he shall not go out to war, neither shall he be charged with any business: but he shall be free at home one year, and shall cheer up his wife which he hath taken.” (Deut. 24:5)

“Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.” (Heb. 13:4)
