I am a LPN for almost 4 years now and I love my jobs. Yes, two of them. I work at a Family Practice clinic through the week and on the weekends sometimes I work for a Nursing Home. I also have my LLRT (limited licensed radiology technologist) certificate, so I can take x-rays as well. I hope at some point to be able to go back to school for my RN degree. Just hasnt been the right time yet.

I hope some day you will go back...it has made all the difference in the world. I began nursing as an LPN...then went on for my RN...my children were young at the time, and I was closer to your age when I returned...at that time there were not the online offers they have now...Just wondering if you had thought of that, that way you could complete at your own pace. When I returned for my RN I had younger children, I found what they call an "ariculation" program which gives you credit for your LPN experience...so I completed in a year. It was one tough year...but it was so well worth it...so I hope in the future you could do this for yourself...it opens alot of doors for you.

I still say though, having been an LPN I would rather have a darn good LPN take care of me, than an RN who thinks shes too good, and knows it all!!! Good Luck!

Good advice Denny, everyone should max out their education if the opportunity arises, and now is a perfect time with the grants that are available.

I know a few RNs who are know-it-alls -- yuck, I detest arrogance and certainly conceit. We all should appreciate the gifts and talents given to us by nature, God and our own hard work. They don't make us any better than anyone else; rather they obligate us to be more helpful. Doctors, many anyway, seem to be the same as those RN's....I avoid them, not my kind of persons.

I'm an RN and have been for over 30 years. I still learn something new each day, and, although I don't work doing hands-on patient care, I still work for our patients behind the scenes as an auditor for the hospital. There are so many specialty areas today for us to work, but I still miss the one-on-one patient care.

I'm a RN working in a smaller hospital on a med/surg floor, have to take care of patients from observation after a procedure to hospice patients. I love my old people best, they just crack me up at times and some days close to tears, and aggravated to deal with some families especialy when they call on the phone and think that we are just an open book. but all together I love being a Nurse, a true calling for myself, couldnt imagine to do anything else.

Hello, all you nurses! This is a good idea, I love it! I have been an RN for apx. 16 years in a town of about 50,000, pretty rural area in Oklahoma. I am in home health, and love it! I think you have a great idea, and we can be a support to one another, plus, you KNOW nurses have a sick sense of humor, that sometimes other don't appreciate! Lets keep it up, maybe others will find us!

We nurses have to have a sick sense of humor!! And PNA is still an old mans best friend
