This question is to all my fellow men, married, divorced or otherwise who have experience on the topic. I would like to get married perhaps someday, but I have been hearing that it's not a good deal for men because they can be easily played by the divorce laws. I don't know myself, I have never been married but I would like to know. What do I need to know before I get married. If I get married and have kids will my wife be able to take our kids, live with another man and make me support her and him? After I tie the knot will things change? I would really like to have a real partnership with a woman but how can I trust her fully? I mean, people say if you love someone you fully trust them but is this really possible, or only for chumps. Any advice you guys have for a young man? What can I do to protect myself to not become one of these poor guys who lives on 200 bucks a month and supports his ex and her loser and not even see his kids. Any advice is appreciated. I am not a bitter guy or a woman hater by any means but when I hear these stories about how men are made into chumps so easily it's scary.

I'm not going to weigh in the the divorce thing, I just got raped by my ex financially, but I got liberal visitation, so it's a wash I guess. I've got my boys for the duration of the summer, so she's now feeling left out. Good. F**k the b*tch. Anyway, my uncle told me long ago and I found it to be true; "Buy all your guns, decoys, outdoors shit, and your fishing equipment before you get married. Because once you do, you'll never be able to openly buy anything ever again". Very prophetic words.

I have never been married, but funny story. Just tonight my next door neighbor left me a message asking to borrow my tractor to do some work on Saturday. I called back while he and his wife of over 50 years argued over the very phone I just called him on, and for the second time this week he told me, "never get married".
Sorry, no personal experience to reflect about or pass on.

If the marraige fails....just act like whatever, ok, see ya. Better yet, become friends with the new guy. We took our kids, his kids, and their kid fishing. It's driving her nucking futs

take a real good look at her and ask yourself if you can live with her for the rest of your life. imagine her overwieght and pissed off all the time.because if you dont really love her,and show it.thats what she might end up being like. so you better be sure she's the one.and treat her right.

As a veteran of 2 marriages, all I can say is, before you tie the knot, get a pre-nup!! If she truely loves you, she'll sign it. Otherwise, you're just better off living together. That way, if things go south, you just leave, and get to keep your stuff. Kids complicate things, because the guy will ALWAYS get screwed. Be it money, visitation, whatever.
So honestly, being married is just a piece of paper. It really isn't worth it. Can you taste the bitterness?

Here's a couple hints....
If your thinking about getting married, live with her first. For at least 1 year. Two, soil your oats! When you tie the know it's just you and her, people of the opposite sex get weird when they find out you are married. You could have the most innocent intentions, but in a womans eyes you're trouble.
If you really like the sex before you get married..... wait until you tie the knot!!! Wedding cake is an excellent form of birth control!.....
Whether or not you and your honey are materialistic.... money always spends like water! Make sure you find out whether or not she is financially strapped! It'll make a huge impact on your future...
