I'm an English teacher, and while I do not expect everyone to have perfect grammar, I am super attracted to a man who can type a sentence with a capital letter, correct spelling, and use mostly proper grammar. The ghetto talk is a NO GO for me. Bad grammar... may not necessarily be a deterrent if other traits are there.

Depends where and why. I don't expect perfect grammar in chat from someone who types 10 words a minute. nor do i expect perfection from someone much smarter than me who is talking to me in a second language. If they can rise to the occasion in their speech so as not to embarrass me in any given situation then that's ok with me. Anyone whom i did not mesh with communication wise wouldn't be around in my life long anyway.

Probably...

It depends...

On my mood...

The purpose of the approach...

And his attractiveness in other areas...

But, yeah, for the most part, I do not find ghetto talk attractive.

Bad grammar (spelling mistakes, improper puntuation)happens. Being ghetto is more like an ice cream flavor that reminds me of shite ala hoe. Its the difference between lack of hooked on phonics and all into ebonics. Language defines culture. And language is the means by which thought oft becomes deed.

So by all means..get hit up! Then press charges to the five o- homie. Or hood rat as the case may be.

Iduno

sometimes I think it's hot.

Besides; most proper writers and speakers don't know what the words mean anyway. Ghetto, trailer, or the proper term; slang is more exact. Sans the b/s.

I can't stand it. Yes, you will be judged by the way you talk/type. A little slang doesn't bother me one bit, but the ghetto crap is beyond unattractive. I make a typo here and there, so I don't get bent out of shape on the little stuff, but screw-ups like putting apostrophes in place of plurals and using the wrong form of there/their and to/too sometimes make my eyes bleed. Our education system is failing us!

I am trying to be less judgemental about this. Some of our frequent black posters actually use their own cultural slang to humorous effect that cracks me up. Anything that makes me laugh, and I do not mean in a derogatory way, is a good thing.

The only times I've ever seen so called lack of grammar used to depict someone as unattractive was when the person's grammar was above or better than average. Grammar has nothing to do with attractiveness.

In the grand scheme of life---people are free to be who they want to be...whether we like it or not. It is another example of self expression---and it may not cloud the inner person's capablilities and unique individual talents. It is just a choice that we do not have to agree with. No law says we have to.
