I know we gardener are interested and appreciate them all, but do you have a favorite??
Mine would have to be a lemon tree, I plant them wherever I live. The blossoms smell great, the
lemons are so cheerful -looking hanging on the tree, and love fresh lemonade!

My verigated Willow tree. If I chose a second it would be a lilac tree. Not your typical bush, but one that is groomed with a single tree trunk and branches out starting at about 5 five.

planted by water. I started dividing mine a couple years ago, and boy, do I have iris now! All over!

Gees, you ask a hard question. So hard to pick a favourite from nature. Among the flowers I've always fancied the sweet faces of pansies but the fragrance of roses, jonquils & jasmine are unbeatable.
Of trees the elegant form and smooth white bark of the lemon scented gum comes to mind and of course its scent as indicated by the name is luscious also.
Among vege's I think rainbow chard is lovely to grow. Both colourful and rewarding....not that I'm a huge fan of the flavour. To eat I like, radishes, cauliflower, onions and many more.....too many to mention.
Oh....how could anybody pick just one favourite!

I agree, to hard to pick just one. I'll give it a try. Tree would have to be a dogwood, just because of what it stands for.
Flower. Roses ( I have almost 30) and orchids because of the old song, "I over looked an orchid while searching for a rose". I like any bushes or flowers that have smell. I am all about smell. Lilac, sweet broom, rosemary, jasmine, magnolia's, banana shrub, sweet shrub, gardenia, herbs, anything that smells!!!
House plants I like odd or unusual things. Ferns, peace lillies, palms...seeee just to many!!!!!

Right now my favorite tree is the Mulberry Tree. Here in Indiana they grow naturally along the edges of woods or treelines. The first mulberries are ripe and I picked 2 gallons off of my three trees that grow along my back property line by the RR tracks. The branches are so full this year they are hanging on the ground. I wear surgical gloves to pick them because I'd have purple hands forever.
I just took a Mulberry cobbler out of the oven. My own recipe. YUMMY!!!!!!

I also love the "sensitive" tree, oleanders, the fragrant ones, salvia, butterfly bush, kumquat and loquat trees,
and ginko trees. There is an interesting tree in this region called the "desert willow" which is fast growing
and can be either a large shrub or small to medium tree. Pretty pink flowers. I planted two, one pruned
as tree, now 6 ft tall in one season, and one as a shrub. My house is for sale, so I will have to start over
at next house, but will make sure I take my special shrub, "yesterday, today, and tomorrow" with me
as it was my mom's favorite shrub.

I do not have a digital camera. In our climate, they bloom in early May, first week or so. I bet you could
find a photo at library. The flowers are three shades of purple. That gives the shrub its name. The ones
that opened yesterday are pale, etc. I had one in Sacramento that when it blooms, there is no green
visible, just a cascade of purple. The branches are somewhat weeping in shape, and it does not grow
over 5-6 feet (in our climate). I have read that they will do ok in containers, so I have a small one
that when my house sells will dig up and move with me in a large container. Please let me know if
you cannot find a photo and I will look for you.

Tomatoes are great, all varieties right now. Figs getting ripe here, I love them, and the trees are attractive, too.
I love my tangerine tree. In dark winter, it is hanging with delicious sweet tangerines like little gold lanterns.
My favorite flower is the old time batchelor (spelling) button. They are hard to get started here, but in KY
we had tons of them, and I loved all their soft colors.

To eat -- sunflower; to grow -- geraniums.
I don't have much of a green thumb though, which is why I like to grow geraniums lol. I don't have a garden space here as I live in a condo, so a small patio out back is all I have. No windowsills either, thanks to the new windows. I enjoy fooling my neighbors by planting fake flowers next to the real ones, and those look pretty much like real ones, so my neighbors think that my plants are the best on the block lol. Have to make do.

Favorite scent would have to be my night blooming jasmine and flower??? hmmmmm I have so many hard to pick only one, but my Angel Trumpets that open at night and scent the night air are incredible for the eye and nose.
