Never been there and I don't know of anyone that bought from it. I used to pass by there a lot at night when I was a professional designated driver. The place wasn't open when I passed by. It was near a QT.

If you go, let us know.

I dislike the commercials but they are like those jewelery store commercials. You hate them but you know who they are. Awesome tactic at branding.

Woman, read reviews before going places and buying anything!!

3.0 star rating

I bought my bed frame and mattress here, which, because I sprung for some really REALLY 'spensive mattresses, I love SO much. I mean, my mattress is just about the best thing in the world (though this has nothing to do with the Dump).

Anyway...I don't understand what all the uproar is about. The prices are just about the same as any other place, if not even a little more pricey. Based on their commercials, I came here thinking that it would be this trove of dirt-cheap furniture, but trust me...it SO is not.

Its a decent enough place, but their furniture and artwork is WAY overpriced, and not at all modern...but not old enough to be antique or vintage, just, outdated...not to mention there are sales people lurking everywhere. Creepy.

I will say though, that my delivery guys were great. They came on time, worked very quickly assembling everything quietly, and went about their business. They even put on those little foot shower cap thingys over their shoes, so they wouldn't get the carpet dirty.

The Dump is an appropriate name for this place. For several years, I kept hearing that The Dump was the place to go to get good deals on furniture. Of course, the store is open at odd times (weekends only) and has a very restrictive return policy. So you'd better like what you get.

My wife and I stopped by looking for some night stands. Most of the crap in the store (and that's what it is) is modern. I really can't believe some of the fabric combinations on the sofas. It's as if the fabric was picked out by a blind decorator from the 70s.

I will admit there were one or two items I thought might be OK. We saw some side tables and buffets that we liked, but the finish was very poor. For example, doors on the buffet would not close and trim pieces did not match up.

For the prices they were asking, I think you'd be better off going to a name brand store like Haverty's, Ethan Allen, or Thomasville. I think you'd pay the same or less, and you'd get a much better sales experience as well as a much better return policy.

My advice: skip the dump and stick with the known stores. Or try Costco. We saw much better quality and WAY better prices at Costco versus anywhere else (and Costco takes almost anything back at any time).

Stores like that, Rooms to Go, Ashley Furniture have crap furniture. I bought a lot of furniture from Rooms to Go before I knew anything about quality furnishings.

When I was an Interior Designer for Direct Buy, I learned how much the markup is on furniture. Same for clothing when I worked in the corporate office at K&G. It's unbelievable. Sickening.

Unless I'm rich, I just don't see ever buying retail furniture again. Craigslist... except for mattresses! Thrift stores for clothes unless I'm looking for something in particular and on the fly...but I'm cheap. REAL CHEAP!

^^^^ To her posting

I would have to add to your comment that if I ever wanted to buy furniture, I would do it from wood, first, (I love wood ) and from someone who worked with wood, second. I would be sure what I am buying is the real thing, and I would pay someone for their work instead of for the markup you talk about, Tonya. In reference to the clothing, when I lived in Fla, I knew a lady who owed a sails store. She was an athlete who after her years in the Olympics decided to open a sails store. She had a house in Coconut Grove and a yacht and she bought the majority of hers, and her family clothes at thrift stores!! So, I don't think that's cheap... I think, that's actually smart! The thing is, to make sure the thrift store to go to is a good one, and there are a LOT of good one around!

Yeah, my dining room table came from Rooms to Go and a glass was left on the table and when I took it off the next day, along came with it part of the table top. That happened ONCE. Never again will I buy cheaply made furniture unless I buy for the low low. I just bought a kitchen table and chairs on Craigslist for $65 and I LOVE IT!

yeah....I have a beautiful formal dining room set that I need to get rid of. It doesn't go where I live now and It's just in the way and taking up a lot of space. It was really expensive when I purchased it and I see how much they are going for used on CL and it just makes me sick to think about....so I procrastinate

It still has to go

I bought my LR furniture from Penny's Outlet, got a great price, because I happened to do on a day when it was 50% off the already marked down overstock price
