CNN this morning gave the results of a poll recently taken that 92% of Americans believe in god. Sorry but I certainly don't believe that one. Perhaps they took the poll in the "bible belt". Any comments?

I agree with you. I question most of the polls they mention the results from on the news. I always wandered what region of the country they surveyed, and I still question Internet polls as certain groups can flood a site with their vote/agenda.

Depends what the poll asked, I doubt that 92% believe in a biblical God.
But there's bound to be a few Deists among that group and other "creation" type believers.
I think the fact that 8% don't believe is encouraging. Seem to remember a poll around 15 years ago that suggested only around 5% were heathens lol.

media polls are 92% biased. technically, according to the way they figure things.
from this forum, you could,technically, say that 100% of americans do not believe in
god.
how is this for a mind job???

GOD is such a universal label....everything from creator to gravitons...so even asking/polling is a total waste of time....more than likely,the pollster is probably a christian of the daily need to reconfirm his doubts....

It all depends on how they asked the question and the multiple choice they give us as an option.
Example: Is it possible there is a god?
answer: A) Yes, B) Maybe, C) not at all
You're just asking for the possibility, and of course there's alot of people that would chose maybe or yes.

polls like this never mean much to me. Because I feel that most people are afraid to answer with how they really feel. Fearing that they may be put on a list of some kind. For other people to use against them.

Like with the politicians polls...the media is going to tell you whatever they want people to believe.

Not only they try to convert us to the "real feith"...they tell you they have the divine4 right to do so. It will never cease to amaze me how so many can be manipulated by so few.

2. Feel offended when you try to express your way of thinking.
3. Try to talk over you to shut your mouth
4. Threaten you with rhe ire of their god for disbelieving him
