Is it infatuation, curiosity or sincere desire to be with an older woman? I have guys my age interested, but I can't believe the number of guys younger than me, some by even as much as 14 years, that say they would date me. My question is, and be honest please because I'm REALLY trying to figure this out, are they looking for a long term relationship or is this just something their friends told them they should try. Some of these younger guys are adorable, have great jobs and good heads on their shoulders and are making guys my age look bad, but before I dive into "cougar-ism", I thought I would do some research. Thoughts please!?!?!

If they really want something long term, it could be because they are finding women in their 30's too immature or materialistic or superficial for them. So going with someone a little older might get them someone with a different attitude about certain things or life in general. It could also be a physical thing. If a woman still looks great and is taking care of herself in her late 30's or early 40's then there's a great chance she'll keep looking great as she continues to get older. Lot's of women are hot in their 20's, but age and gravity catch up to a lot of us.
It could also be a sexual thing; an older more mature woman may give them something different (read:better) sexually. More experienced women should be more enjoyable sexually, right? Maybe the younger guys think they can learn something sexually from an older woman?
These are my thoughts. Just thoughts. I can't say if any of this is really true. At 33, am I still "young"???

Older women I think are more developed emotionally and have a really sexy demeanor about them and tend to not wanna play games..But then again I have found women in thier 40s who still think they are playboy bunnies..I think age plays a good role in how a woman matures but it really dont matter if she wants to play games shes gonna play them

Ive spoken with a few young men on here. I am not into cougarism but, one was very adamant about wanting a relationship with me. Great job, house, car. Before this subject of a relationship was brought up by him. He stated several times he preferred to be with someone who is machure,honest, good hearted and beautiful. Me being the air head that I am. I told him he would find someone. He said I all ready have. I'be been trying to throw hints. I did tell him it was to early for me to have a relationship with anyone. Now he 's shunned me. I chose one who is older for fwb. (1)

Speaking for myself i enjoy older women because they still belive in thee old ways. and i have more in common with a woman of this nature i think they are dirtier in bed and public lookin to make the most of everyday and usually have more time with the kids bein grown and gone again this is my opinion and experienc that i have had

Younger guy's want one thing, sex, while there are some that are not all about sex, most are. Some want to be babied, if you get my drift. Personally. I wouldn't date a woman in her 50's. Not my take. Max 5-7 years my senior. I would think I was with someone that was old enough to be my mom. ( been there done that with my rehab nurse when I was 18 and I am not braggin) TO me they see most of the crap on TV like COUGAR TOWN, or like on the news about college girls having a "SUGAR DADDY" to pay for there college. Too much fantasy, and not enough reality.

In my experience they were looking for someone who would pay for the dates, give them gas money and hump like rabbits with them.. I just have not been attracted to a 20 something since I WAS that age so I always decline. They might be fine for sex but a conversation? They have no life experience and I don't want to hear oh my mom graduated the same year as you

I am 33 and usually date younger (early to mid 20s). Just have better experience with females this age range. There is a better spark, and I just can communicate with them in a better sense.

Closer to your age the maturity level and the line of communication is better. The young guys just want older women so they can brag. It could never turn into anything more than just a sexual relationship.

I find that young men raised by single moms generally try to hit on me. I often hve men in their early 20's ask me out and the few I have went out with were more of a gentleman than any of the men around my age have been.

I married a younger woman and it was a disaster. Women in general arent being taught how to bwomen, just grownup teenagers. An older woman would b attractive because theres more of a chance of maturity and responsibility, theoretically.

Okay, just to point out that a lot if stereotyping is going on. I am a cougar, been one before it was called that. For me personally, I fit better with younger men. It just kinda happens that way. I am open to age, race, religion and so forth. When it comes down to it, it's the man inside & out that I'm really interested in. I have had serious relationships with younger men, not just a sexual thing, we didn't last, not because of the age factor.
There is always going to be men out there that are just looking for sex or a free ride, age really doesn't matter in that respect. There will always also be men who are looking for love & commitment.
It really comes down to the individual person.
I know what I want and what I don't.

As someone who has actually dated older woman:
It's actually really simple. Older woman have poise and confidence, that only comes with life experience. Younger men are more mature than young woman, so older woman are a natural fit. Older woman are funny, composed, comfortable in their skin and more accepting of others. They appreciate a man who wants to be with them.
Young woman are immature, rash, unstable, emotional, unsure of themselves, not confident, embarrased of their bodies, judgemental and the list goes on. Young woman assume they are more mature because magazines and tv tell them they are.
Anyone woman who dates a man who expects a woman to pay is a loser, no matter what age. Please do not lump them in with the rest of us.

What I said was very specific, please try to follow along. Younger men are more mature than the same aged younger woman. Men are expected to work, provide, pay and initiate. Woman are not expected to do any of that. Go into any 20 something's bar and you see it filled with young woman dressed like hookers to get attention. As soon as they get it, they are upset everyone is staring at thier tits, she took days planning to show off and them gets upset about it.
Nothing I said, had anything to do with men's maturity level as they aged beyond there 30's.

I am in no way more intelligent than the person sitting next to me, but here is my opinion, from experience. I am an adult. I grew up faster than most. Its not the younger women's fault that I advanced faster than she. That's not including every woman either. But when the time came that i realized i was a little advanced for my age, i sought other options. Those options were to choose another age group. Ones that 'knew'. I though, at one point, to try a younger women. WHOA!! Wrong idea. So i veered the other direction. Turns out, most older than me do not need to be 'trained', so to speak. i dont have time to take steps back, or teach what they should know. I would rather refresh the memory. However, there are mature women in every age group. Its a very broad perspective. there are also immature women in every ege group. So the question should be narrowed to what age group of men, say 25-35. They may seek women from 40-50, as 18-25 yr old men may seek women from 30-40. its too hard to judge a book from a cover. There is no way to tell, unless you know some history. Younger seeking older for unconditional love or sensual desire.....is two totally different realms. Not an easy question.

When I was in my early 20's I used to date older women, mostly because the girls my age were annoying and superficial. Also, there is a taboo allure to it. Now that I am older I have realized that women of any age can be annoying, but there is definitely more of that going on with the younger women out there. Age is just a number. If your ultimate goal is to get married than I would probably shy away from men to much younger.

Ok honestly there are a lot of older good looking women out there that I'd would be more than happy to date or sleep with. The ones that Attract me are the ones with a good head on there shoulders and take care of there bodies and are independent. The experience is deff a plus the he demor that a older women gives off attracts me and when they see a younger guy like myself they don't have a clue what I can do just with my tounge lol don't wanna get ahead of myself lol but yes to me some older women are very attractive. I have run the gammit from 19 to 62 and personally found 45 and up to be the best all around. While i have had to help them explore a bit outside of their comfort zone, in the end they were the most intense lovers.
Not too many youngsters want to take the time to learn what extended foreplay and cuddling with oral recovery means to an all night sweat fest. My personal observations and yet to be proven otherwise.

As a guy who has dated quite a few older women. I know it is this way for me and I am sure it is this way for a lot of other guys as well. Saying you like the maturity and all that of older women is just a cover story. The real reason is the thrill of it all.
In most scenarios (unless the guy is much better looking than the girl) where the two are either the same age or the guy is older the woman is almost always viewed as the sex object of the relationship. She is often the hot body that he wants to get naked and pleasure.
In older woman/younger man scenarios those roles are often reversed though. He is often viewed as the sex object that she wants to get naked and pleasure.
I think why some people get such a kick out of the older woman/younger man scenario is the thrill of the role reversal. I think both individuals get a bit of a thrill out of it. He in terms of being the sex object and she in terms of treating the guy like the sex object.
