By putting y pi r money where your mouth is. In producing as a professional there is no such thing as free. If you want the best you have to work at it. That goes further than spindliest. That means every music blog and purchasing blogspots on top music media blogs as well. It takes a while but all the hard work will pay off so long as you remember to mind karma.

YouTube, bandcamp, soundcloud, Facebook, even MySpace...promote yourself within those places or so find people who like the same sound and recommend your music also you can go to shows that is like your style and promote the shit out of your music...pass out cards have them listen to your stuff and if they like it tell them to go like your page right then also you can sell them your music but normally that's were people turn it down keep it free you can never go wrong there. I have found a lot of new music this way...you just have to have great people skills and sell yourself best time to become cocky haha

There's an old saying in the entertainment and literature business: The only thing worse than no agent, is a bad agent.

Promote yourself. Study the major labels and see how they do it. Look at your budget. Check out your local demographics, because Cisco says that although handheld devices grew in usage by 80 percent more in 2012, the laptop still dominates consumerism in buying.

I would say Youtube, Facebook, your own website for download sales and building your audience. These days, labels are looking for the band with the audience.

Get to know writers , artists who are out there . You can't sit on you computer and expect to do something . Reverb Nation is a good venue if you have tunes recorded...just make sure they are under 8mb in size , or it is not free if you want to upload larger files . absorb real feedback . But , rule out your friends/family . I have been in this business as a singer/songwriter/musician/producer for 33 years . Learn how the industry is a business . That's exactly what it is . If you ever feel gutsy enough to approach a major label , your tunes better be radio ready , full production material . I f you don't know what you're doing , find someone who does . I , myself , am on reverb nation as lee buchanan . Just some old stuff I did . That's a start for unknown talent , facebook , youtube , etc .

Really depends on what kind of music you're making. I would say SoundCloud is the best way to get the music in peoples hands (iPod/iTunes) and also people like seeing things on YouTube. It's all about getting that "one hit". You never know what song it'll be.
