Flowers on the first date? Don't forget on a first date everywomen has their armor on and defenses up, you send her flowers the day after the date, no roses though. Write on the card, I know this isn't following the rules but i had a great time and I'm counting the min till I see you again. That would make a better impression that bringing flowers on the first date. IMO

actually none, rather the guy be original and that is just boring. rather a guy put some thought into it. anyone can buy stuff to give or take you to a fancy place to eat. do something different even little off beat at least then it shows you put some thought into it.

Its only the thought that counts! Even if it was just a flower you picked from a yard on your way there, no need for roses or arrangments! thats for when something like a birthday or valentines day comes around...more special that way! But that is just me

Flowers on a first date would be nice , but I would agree with jimmyroma, if I guy send me flowers with a note telling me he can't wait til the next time, he is definitely a keeper in my book.

damn...I thought the art of wooing, or at least making a nice first impression was long gone!
If you are going to bring flowers, and you get the opportunity, ask her in a general conversation, what her fav flower is...makes it extra special!
Something casual would be nice I think...no roses for me...Wild wonderful colors...or different flowers all in similar colors...go pick them out yourself...a lot pf grocery stores have some great choices, if florists are closed!

I always felt that I was being pushy with getting flowers on the first date. If the date goes well though, I would usually try to make a stop and get them.

Yeah---I thought that was an old fashioned idea---kind of a slimy way to start and then you know it will never be flowers everyday after that. Tacky way to start---like a box of candy used to be cool too. Show up ON TIME--with a smile and a big HELLO---and an idea of someplace cool to go for a date. Not a boring movie or a McDonalds Happy meal. And don't show up in your work truck---have a nice clean car ready to sweep your date off to paradise.
