No disrespect. I understand being young sometimes make you naive but older folks always feel like bc of there age makes them right. Like the older day me and my mom was talking about my past relationship and I didn't agree with her she says I know I'm right bc I am older then you. Being older doesn't make you smart what do you think??

We definitely don't know anything, but in many cases we also remember being very certain about some of the same sorts of things we hear younger people say and having learned that things aren't quite so simple as life went on.

It's called life experience. We all thought we knew everything when we were your age too. When you get to our age, you'll understand. Can't explain it better than that.
This is something my moms says and I tell her mom you don't have to experience something to learn from it I see other people go through things I have never done like drinking and driving I don't drink or do drugs I don't have to do it to learn not too.

One of my favorite things used to be going with my dad on Saturdays to the Hunting club. It was always a bunch of old farts sitting around drinking, talking shit. I look back on that now and can't even begin to tell you how much shit I learned from them. Of course I thought they were fulla shit back then.

My 2cents, older people usually have some good insight, not always, but often. Your parents want what is best for you, for you to be happy and possibly avoid some "errors/mistakes" they may have made. As an adult, you can listen and make a choice whether you follow said advice or not.
