I recently discovered mushrooms growing in my house. What to know are they a health risk? Do anyone know what can be done?

Well they are a fungus and most are toxic I would probably have the place checked to make sure there isn't I serious problem considering the need a moist environment to grow in and usually when it cones to homes moisture usually equals mold. However if you are purposely growing said mushrooms disreguard the above statement

Do the taste test.

Eat as many as you possibly can. If you're still alive after a week, they are not a hazard to your health, and you're welcome to continue eating them for as long as they continue to grow.

Think of the mushrooms as a gift from mother nature.

Do a complete sealing, check.Meaning check house completely for areas moister can get in,from out side,do some rec*cking with silicon construction sealant and blocking of any holes.if moisture getting in then heat and air gets out.No need for high electric bills.Clean any areas first to get rid of mole, mildew build up cloreen works best killing and cleaning of mildew. Can even spray in hard to get to areas. The worst mushroom is under a cow paddy-poo.But as another stated is fungus. Not needed in a home.

I thought it was a thread about "shroom hunting". I hope OP doesn't do the "taste test"

I'm constantly eating store-bought mushrooms. Not the kind that makes you hallucinate.

Yes but we wash them first.... and don't act like you never put anything in your mouth that might be questionable..

If you live in a cave, totally normal.
Otherwise, burn down the house for the insurance money.
I however, get 5% advisor fee.

Actually, I don't. If I don't know what it is or don't know that I will like then I don't! So, don't ACT like you know what I've done and what I haven't when you DON'T!

Better get that house inspected! Sounds like it could be a health hazard. It sounds abnormal to me. Does this mean you have a mold problem? If so, that's correctable.

Not really sure how that solves anything especially considering you can't just not inhale mold spores....
