I feel we are all doomed for destruction without a doubt!!!
That's unless we have some sort of alien intervention that going to step in and take charge...
Even if we the people of the planet all rise up right now... they have it all planned and are ready for it... causing much death and destruction world wide... and those left over will quietly live as humble salves to the dictators...
I personally recommend getting in touch with your inner self --> "Meditation" on a regular basis... and hope that helps if there is an afterlife...

Society today is weak. Stop all the pc bullcrap! Not everyone gets a trophy for participating. Only the winners do. Not everyone makes the team. Only the good ones do. Every little thing offends someone then the will of a few is projected on the many. Stop the bs with team logos and names. They've been like that for as long as I remember and it wasn't until the last 10 years that people have been crying about them. Stop handing people stuff. What happened to work for it? Just my thoughts and opinion.

For a detailed explanation of cultural decline, I heartily recommend:
Oswald Spengler "Decline of the West" Knopf, ca. 1937.
Or Intergang does Abendlandes.
Out of print , but downloadable free on-line.
Many college professors find this book utterly esoteric, thus proving its central thesis of cultural decline.
Consider that Spengler's predictions were made on the eve of WW 1.

You are taking the original work Decline of the West out of context as it was written decades before.
Similarly Wagner and Nietzsche are taken out of context. This is due to a totalitarian regime's attempt to legitimize itself.
Ideology is for blind followers and it is a dead end. We are on the verge of a post-political , post- ideological paradigm shift.
The sooner that most voters leave the D and R parties in favor of more innovative, constitutional and freedom seeking parties, the better.
Spengler basicly pointed out that all cultures carry with them the seeds of their own decline and that history is cyclical and not linear. It is tragic that history and science are not taught properly in the public school system , but that is just another symptom of cultural decline that seem to accelerate the process.
In short, free thought trumps ideology any day of the week.
There are constructive alternatives to the two-party BS we have been fed over the last 120 years....

The children aren't taught right in school, but "free Thought" is the true way to be enlightened.
So they should be Taught regimentally but allowed "free expression" within the established guidelines. (Who Establishes the Guidelines??
We should abolish the Dem and Repub parties and vote for a ruling class based on a book the surmises all societies are doomed and therefore we should be happy with a benevolent authoritarian to lead us thru the bad times and avoid the decline. Using what guide is this leader to use?
Sorry but Spengler was totally wrong......Witness the stock market and the flock of billionaires created by the Cyclical nature of societies.
The decline is nothing more than the beginning of a renewed and invigorated society.

You are equating stock market / economic cycles with cultural cycles. You are free to do so, but it's at a different level of reductionism and emergence.
Nobody is talking about abolishing the D and R parties , but they are in evolutionary cultural decline as they are bought and paid for by pseudoelite special interests at public expense and will eventually go the way of the Whigs and Federalists as they no longer reflect the will of the people.
Free thought happens in spite of the educational system as it does an abysmally poor job of developing human potential.The problem of education reform is largely one of minimization of interference with constructive personal development.
The IPoD is based on creative synthesis -- not on a single book as you assume.
Consequently, the original essay "Limits to Politics" raised questions that raised questions based upon key concepts of Oswald Spengler "Decline of the West" and Thomas Kuhn " The Structure of Scientific Revolutions ", together with the Nietzschean question of culture vs. politics.
I could have thrown in Gibbon " Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire " , but had a limit of three pages of text and one page of footnotes for the sake of brevity.
It was merely intended to raise questions -- not dictate final answers...

It's interesting how everyone says destruction contrary to the evidence all around them. Declining war, violent crime, disease, and increasing life spans.
But hey, it's more Hollywood-esque to be living in 'rough times' or the 'end of times'. We're all doomed.
