I cant do it all the time but I mix a health portions of raw food in my diet... mainly lots raw veggies... cant do too much fruit bc i hav hypoglycemia, too much sugar and all that...
I eat big hearty breakfast and lunch but for dinner... raw veggies...
Try whatever variety you want.. my personal favorites: sweet potato, tomato, broccoli, cauliflawer, cucumber, avocado, zucchini, carrot, etc...
I get a huge plate of just one or mix of whatever veggies and munch on it while I watch tv... except when i have avocado, I just cut it up in half and pit it and pour some olive oil and a bit salt and pepper... it so good to just spoon up... but when i need something more, I slice up a few pieces of mayne muenster cheese...
And if youve never done so much raw veggies before steam it slightly and sprinkle it with a bit of parmesan cheese

you realize how much FAT you're consuming in all those? avocado is chock full of fats. olive oil on your avocado is EXTRA fat. and then you add CHEESE? even MORE fat? then you put cheese on your regular VEGGIES? none of this sounds all that healthy. above all else, not all of this is good information for someone trying to lower their cholesterol.
while olive oil fat isn't BAD for you, an excess of it IS. high fat dairy products are also no-no for those with high cholesterol. cheese therefore is a no-no.
not ALL vegetables will help lower your bad cholesterol. You want fruits/veggies high in soluble fiber - examples are whole grains, oats and oat bran, brown rice, fruits such as citrus fruit, apples, grapes, etc. and legumes & lentils.
Omega3 fatty acids are good for raising your good cholesterol and lowering your bad cholesterol - they're found in DARK GREEN vegetables as well as fish, cold-pressed flaxseed oil, safflower oil, sunflower oil, and canola oil
I'm going to guess that OP's doctor gave her a list of GOOD foods to eat and FOODS TO AVOID. So, OP, what foods are on the list that you want recipes for?

Ground flax seed with the original 57% Fiber One cereal and any nonfat soy, almond, or non fat milk is the best start to your day, usually add a small banana for my potassium because I work out regularly. Most granola is to sugar filled and it will elevate the triglycerides which can turn into cholesterol.

Go organic. Tried it and can't go back. It taste better and good for you. Web search "The Dirty Dozen, organic." Stay away from fast food and diet labels too! Also web search "Heart Healthy Recipes." And above all, mostly cook your food rather than reading out often, and read the sodium on labels when you shop for groceries. If it says low sodium, or heart healthy, read the label because sometimes it's not. Good for you eating healthy.

Food network magazine had terrific recipes. I've used several for holiday meals.
