Hi everyone,
My son is currently in basic training at Fort Knox, KY. His MOS is 25U. When he first started, he had to go to a Fitness Training Unit to build his speed at running. He stayed there a week and during that time, he and another private were put on LOS (Line of Sight) duty over a young man that tried to run away.
He built his speed during the first week of FTU and as of last Saturday, he joined C Company in regular basic training. The day he entered C Company, he was made Platoon Guide.
Can anyone explain exactly what a Platoon Guide is? What duties do they have? Is this an honor or a punishment?
