Because if you're tires are worn on the inside or outside the caster and or camber are off.Could be bad ball joints.If they do a alignment with you're old tires on the vehicle,when you put new tires on the alignment will be off again.

If you have any loose parts at all. Then the moment it moves. Thats throwing good money after bad. Most shops recommend replacement of tires because an alignment isnt going to correct the wear issue. After the first 1000 miles on a new set of rubber the wear pattern is set in. So you get new tires. Do the alignment and most places will honor the tire mileage warranty. Unless you have loose parts then they wont.

Do not listen to anyone's un-educated b.s. Or the shister that tried to sell you those tires. As posted by ???, it is true that you can read the old tires and tell what the problem is but, either new or used it will not change alignment. A four-wheel alignment is done on a rack with tires in the air. Computer sensors for correctness. Now, a set of tires after will better your ride, but not needed. Also, pre-new tires will not change outcome. Question; why do you believe your vehicle is in need of an alignment?

Yes, good, evenly worn tires are important to a good alignment. If you are obese, you may want to sit in the car while adjustments are made.

i don't know if a wheel alignment, (unless really bad ) does much good here in wv. the asphalt roads actually have ruts worn in them by big trucks. pulls you with ruts.

Uneducated bs? If the vehicle is in the air, the suspension is unloaded. I had my education in alignments from hunter engineering. The guys who design and sell most of alignment systems out there. Where did you get YOUR information?
