Joyusall2 and others, in my opinion, what makes this forum attractive, (could be and has been even greater fun and more rewarding and I'll get to that in a moment), is expressing and sharing in our own styles and words our own unique interpretations and understandings of the bible/God. It would be boring and practically useless if the only thing posted here was exact textbook copies of the bible text because we already have our own printed text, (physical books). It is as well great when we can add to our messages bible verse references and even sometimes actual copies of exact bible text to aid our understanding each other's points and ideas about God. Also for the same reason it is sometimes helpful to quote each other in our dialogs as I am about to do. It may seem a small insignificant thing, these explanatory comments from your earlier post Joy, "Now I know this may sound non biblical a bit" and "(in bible not exact words)", however, since I had a few years away it made something obvious to me upon my return that I feel we might address to improve our enjoyment and reward from interacting with each other here.

I feel these quotes above are an example of symptoms of a bully or bullies that have been brow beating(intimidating) the posters here in this forum with insulting and chastising comments intended to and causing posters to fear and respect the bully(s) as powerful biblical authorities on this site. I assure you that this is the same tactic that the Pharisees where employing in the temples of Jesus' day and the bullies here are no more an authority on the bible then the Pharisees were on the Son of God. I ask and challenge all readers to take a moment and browse this forum's earliest pages and compare the variety and attitude of the posters and content to the current page. I think you might see that there were a lot more variety of posters and a lot less inhibition to freely share ideas in the earlier days here. Yes I too have no doubt that this reflects society

obnoxiously rude bully can and has influenced many posters and would be posters to either limit their posts and content or stay away altogether. This is the negative effect of capitalism on society. It is a system that ironically entices us to aspire to be the best instead of our own best. In this way it inflames selfishness and chills compassion.

So if you agree that what you are attracted to on this board is a variety of posters and an elaborate richness of content then there is something we can do to improve these attributes. Avoid personal insults. Either refrain from posting them yourself or address the behavior of those who do. This is not easy and we are not always going to be able to accurately realize the difference between subjective and objective comments so I recommend two things to help this tactic be more effective.

First do not hesitate to help each other out with an objective warning when we perceive a subjective insult whether it be directed at ourselves or others. Remember the goal is to help achieve a more enjoyable forum for everyone to participate so it is most effective when we are focused and act on other's interests as in when someone else is insulted.

Second: Use the block button in stages. For instance as only an example of technique, time may vary depending on individuals and circumstances. One insult, warn. Second insult, block for a day. Third insult block for a week. Fourth insult block for several weeks, and fifth insult, well life is too short and precious to babysit everyone so perhaps this is the threshold to leave them blocked indefinitely.

As far a flagging a post or poster I am not comfortable with leaving this to the administration of the site unless the post is very extreme because in the past the administration just deleted whole threads which quickly became a tool for malicious posters to use which obviously punished everyone. It maybe that the current administration is different but I don't want any one's effort to be avoidably lost in a gamble on it.

I realize that it is a huge leap of faith that we can effect the desired improvement but I am a believer in the word and the word is, together, united, with fasting(block) and prayer(communicating), we can move mountains so surely one or a few Pharisees is no obstacle.

Joy, no need to worry or second guess your self about your personal style being written and or verifiable in the bible because as far as I can tell, you have intended no harm and have added greatly to the charm and enjoyment of at least my visits here just exactly the way you are, kind, inquisitive, expressive, and gracious. I see nothing there that would displease God either.
