Totally depends on where you live. USC vs UCLA? Universtity of Texas vs. Oklahoma? Michigan vs. Ohio St.? Florida St. vs. Miami? It will all depend on the viewpoint of the person responding and where they live or feel a connection with.

For me its Oklahoma vs Texas. The animosity between the two schools, the teams, the fans, and the citizens of the two states is as heated as any rivalry out there. The location being
a true nuetral site almost the exact same distance from bothe scools ads to it. Not to mention seeing the cotton bowl literally split down the middle with crimson and burnt orange. A truely great rivalry!

Arguably ... the two best teams for all college football for all time are USC and Notre Dame ... so one would figure that the greatest rivalry in college football would be ...
USC vs. Notre Dame
SC and UCLA is easily the greatest city rivalry.
But in terms of history ... rivalry ... quality of teams, historic rankings ... USC vs. Norte Dame is second to none.

PS- The most significant college football game ever played was the 1970 USC vs. Alabama, which broke the racial barriers in the SEC. All other games were just sporting events ... this game brought actual social change.
