When I tithe, I cry tears of pain
When in church, a place to worship my Lord,
in between the praying & hearing a message unfold,
there is the collection of our tithes.
10% given back, all servants of God must do.
There are tears in submitting it, from who.
It is not due to the lack of spendable funds
that will be from paying this IOU ,
as I know God expects this of me, as our
stewardship of all, the Bible schools.
Regularly as a collection plate was filled,
an envelope,said "family" now that's stilled.
Not knowing if any notice, I turn my face,
as the eyes tear up then, although I know my
husband is with God, and in a better place.
For I miss my husband greatly here on Earth
every day, and that is why I cried.
When tithe is given, we are a family no more,
as I can not say that since he died.
These tears will pass when my soul is free
also, once with our beloved Lord, I can be.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart to friends so kind
for showing love to us during this diffucult time to me and mine.
God's people are the greatest, church is the best,
and whether a church member or a guest,
all are made welcome and soon get the feeling of being blest. -----
I put down how I felt after I lost my husband, and then
made it into this poem. Have had many compliments on it.

PS> That's why I think love is so important - not trying to replace him, for I know we each walk our own paths. But sure loved a married life with all the fixens.
I posted this tonight over at the 50's thread, and thought maybe others here might like to share if they have compiled any poems about their loss....

Beautiful poem I to lost my husband 3 yrs ago. Not one day goes by that i dont think about him and miss him. Why I ask was he taken from me so young. He was 40 yrs old.

Hi mizzellie,
thanks much. I don't know why, hate it. Life gone wrong, not the way we planned it for sure.
when God closes a door, look for that window to be openned. Still too, be picky as u were the first time. Don't settle just to have that life again......
