I've never posted in here and probably should have checked here before purchasing a new
Dell computer system or I wouldn't have made such a mistake.
Were you aware after 21 days - Dell will only replace parts, monitors, everything with refurbished equipment?
I purchased a new computer system on June 21, 2008 and now have a refurbished monitor,
the second refurbished motherboard and refurbished memory cards. So in less than 4 months I now am the proud owner of an expensive refurbished computer.
I am filing a formal complaint with the NC Attorney General Consumer Protection Division at their request after talking with them.
Has anyone else had this problem?

no...I cannot say as I have that problem. I was given a one year warranty...
from DELL.
Do you have a retailer to talk to???

I have a 1 yr warranty also. After 21 days all parts and components are refurbished.
I didn't believe it but it is in the warranty book. Also - all techs and customer service are in India and communication is not what I would have expected. I tried to get a number for corporate office in the US but was disconnected 4 times after requesting the info and being told they did not have those numbers.

My Dell is almost 2 years old. Just before my year was up I had my monitor replaced and it was a rebuilt one. It is a bigger and better one than came with the computer. I have not had any other problems.
I would definately contact them and not give up until they listen to your complaints. Word of mouth is the worst advertisement they can have.

i do subcontracted work for alot of the name brand companies and when they send me out to replace faulty parts under warranty, it is usually refurbished parts...its not just Dell.

It's bad enough that they sent out alot of the GX270's with defective motherboards...so now what, are they gonna send a defective refurbished motherboard?

I've had a Dell for almost four years and the only thing I've ever had to replace was dial up modems. We've had other brands alongside it and they died! I love them. Most ALL mfgs. use refurbished parts not just computers either. What's wrong with refurbished? If they didnt tell you, you would not have known in the first place. You don't buy used cars? LOL..If they told you up front in the warranty book and you didnt take it back right then, I don't think you have a case!
