Any good Zoo Amphitheatre or concert show...well that's after I've got to know the person, otherwise I like a quiet place so you don't have to shout over anyone or anything...an afternoon meal at any resturant is always cool.

Yes and no in my opinion. Firstly Bricktown is a little trendy for my tastes, and there are better places to go where you dont have to worry about parking, walking in the cold, or rain which will be an issue shortly. I used to love to take my wife to the Mantel- it was where we went alot when I was dating her. Great Kalamari, and the seafood Diane is fabulous. Not the cheapest place in town though thats for sure. I can remember sinking $80-$90 each time we went and that was only with one or two drinks if even that.

I am looking for more specific places, little clubs, or cafe's- I am not one for bars, but those are always cool if they have decent music, or an atmosphere more like Cheers, rather than citywalk LOL. Tell me the coolest place you ever have or do hangout and why.

The purpose of this post is to give everyone more creative options than just the old "Dinner and Movie" routine.

I think a museum would be a good place.
It can be the history, the art, the science and even the mummy museum.
Yea it may not be real romantic but it's a good place to start.

Does OKC have an aquarium like Tulsa? That would be a great place to take someone. I know up here in the far reaches of Oklahoma we don't have much in the way of culture or entertainment, but I know around OKC and Tulsa there are also a lot of historical places to take people, or the Civic Center Music Hall for one of their shows?
I realize a lot of people are not into the Arts, but you haven't lived until you experience a musical or the philharmonic perform! I was priviledged years ago to see the musical "Cats" at the Fox Theatre in St. Louis, it was incredible.

There isn't an aquarium in OKC that I'm aware of. I hear the one in Tulsa is really cool. I personally love all the differant cultural place's you can go to.It's always neat to learn something new..
If your an animal lover you can always have a daytime date at the zoo.(weather permitting)

OK- Those are some suggestions with potential. The only aquarium in OKC is the one at the zoo- it's under the area where they used to have the porpoise show. It is nice and dark, so lots of make-out opportunites. Bonus points for that. The Zoo itself is ok, but not in the summer- too hot, so that leaves spring and fall- Spring is the best time to take a date there, especially if it is a new relationship. Go when the animals are mating and doing there thing- That could be the icebreaker you need.........

As far as the arts and plays and cultural events, depends on the person and what they are into. Alot of those things dont seem to be advertised as much as other events. I like a little culture myself now and then, but this could be a hard sell on a date.....

Yall try pollstar dot com for all the shows in the area. If you can resist throwing your money in a machine the casinos have some great venues with various great acts.

The dinner theater in Moore is different and kind of fun. The food is good and you get a decent show and still have time to converse and be with your date.

LOL, there are more interesting things that the animals, mammals and fish do than mate! It is fantastic to watch them and what they do. Or am I the only Biology nut in the area? I was fascinated when I took a tour of the Tulsa aquarium, and got to go behind all the tanks, over into the holding tank area that is off limits with one of the biologists, and above the shark tank. One particular lemon shark came within two feet of me, swimming right to the edge, I could have reached down and touched it. But of course that wouldn't have been smart to piss it off, huh? LOL. I know others do not get that opportunity, but they truly are amazing to watch. Feeding the stingrays and getting to touch sharks and stingrays in another tank was awesome!

The arts and cultural events are a matter of taste, however one of the things about dating and meeting someone new is trying new things. You never know what she may like, and would most likely be swept away by the experience and would never forget how she felt, or whom she was with that gave her one of the incredible moments of her life. One of the funny things about people is that often they do not know what they like, until they try it. But what they don't realize is that they wouldn't have done so without someone else pushing them into it, and then they are thankful that they were. Granted that is not always the case, but those moments, if you think about it are rare. If every women you can think of would most likely respond negatively to the idea of something cultural, maybe you are not looking at the right sort of women, or maybe pessimistic thinking is clouding the issue. Give it a chance, you never know until you try!

Sharks are Fun to watch, but only at a distance. You should keep your hands out of the tank, and try your hardest not to piss them off.

OK people, the pupose of this post has obviously been lost in the quagmire of people who do more posting on here than actually get out and do things. I was hoping to share some of the cooler spots where I like to hang out with persons who were willing to do the same. Am I the only one on this website that ever leaves the house and computer behind and actually goes anywhere?? I am beginning to wonder. There are tons of stuff to do in this city if you know where to look, and I have been to more underground and unpublished events this summer than in a long time- maybe since my college days. The urban art and pop-culture scene is thriving and flourishing in OKC and none of these locations are ever announced, or publicized- you just have to know people. Some of the best clubs, cafes and bistros are off the beaten path. You'll just have to log off, and go find them I guess.

That was my way of pointing out that she wasnt staying on topic and answering the question. She rarely does, because she's too busy trying to impress herself with her verbosity so asking nicely wouldnt have mattered much anyways.

i dont recall if the comedy club is still open but thats a good place for a laugh... I like parks but its getting cold... if you like to let your inner child out there are always places like Celebration Station etc... i know, not quite what you're looking for - but as I dont get out that often due to being a broke a** single parent who has to cart my child with me everywhere I go and who doesnt like the bar scene thats the best I can do for ya! i like the musuem idea, or even the live performances downtown - but for getting together with my friends to mess around or smoke and joke home is always best

I love Tap Werks in Bricktown. You can eat for $10. Live bands Friday and Saturday nights. Guitar Hero on Thursdays, and other activities durning the week. Check out the specials before the Thunder games. OU away games have specials and prizes thru one of the radio stations with a DJ on site. Voted one of the Top 100 places to drink beer and have fun in the USA. Always an upbeat crowd with visible security to prevent any problems from happening. Great out going staff. Parking lots on each side and free parking a block north. Hope to see you there some time.

Grovey grandma.
