Grandparent rights..I need help |

Here I am, my second grandson is about to be born in 10 hours or so..my first is 18 months old. My estranged daughter and son in law live 10 min from me and I have not been able to be part of my grandsons life thanks to my exs brainwashing my daughter after the divorce in 92.(I have never been told why)
My question is does anyone know about grandparents rights? I talked to an atty briefly and he said its doubtful if you havent built a bond with the child. That just doesnt seem right to me. I have never done anything wrong,I have lived a good life and have always given to others when needed. I could understand if your a child molester or beat your child when they were growing up, but if your a good person how can a child keep you from knowing your grandchildren.

I have no clue about grandparent rights so I cannot comment on that. However, I hope that you continue to seek all possibilities either legally or through personal efforts to establish contact with your grandchildren. I pray all goes well with you.

What a sad thing to go through... first your daughter and now with grandchildren... I'm sorry. Have you written a letter to your daughter explaining how you feel and asking for an explanation? (keep a copy for your records). Other thoughts are making an appointment with a family law lawyer for a consultation, getting on your state's website for family law or going to the your state's law library.

gawd, so sorry to hear about this happening to you..have you tried a google search on wi laws on grandparents rites ? i had to do a search about transporting a body from n.c. to mo. ,,then the laws about the burial,,, i found all that we needed on there,,hope this might help,,if not give me a email and i`ll try to help somehow..ex can sometime be a pain in the @ss prayers are beeing said for you all,

Gawd, I know it is hard to wait but most of the time kids do come back to you. I have been through this myself and it does usually happen. The only time I have heard of the law working was when the parents were less than desired. I do wish you well and I would suggest trying to talk to her again.

I can't emagine why anyone wouldn't want the grandmother involved in a childs life. I pitty my daughter if she would try to keep me from my grand daughters, i would break her with attorney fee's.

My daughter is 30 and I have tried everything..letters, pleas, love, offered counseling for both of us with no avail. She used to have a website that showed video clips of things he did throughout the year and I would check it often so I could see him grow but she has now blocked me from it. She is such a hateful girl..and loves to make it miserable for me, like holding a carrot infront of me then taking it away. I just dont understand why..that is the million dollar question.
I have spent hours reading the wisconsin laws tonight online and it doesnt look like I have a leg to stand on. A parent has the right to raise a child any way they see fit. I also talked to an atty and he was not hopeful.
I was hoping that if I posted this maybe someone would come up with a miracle. Her second son is to be induced today and the thought of not being able to go see him is tearing me up inside.
