charon52 Evanston, IL age: 57	I've had a Ford- died regularly and only got good mileage because half of the miles were it being towed, had a chevy for less than a year- replaced 1/3 of the rusted out body, brakes twice, and starter before I finally got rid of it, now have a Dodge- beater with a heater- starts, runs, goes from point A to B without too much noise and water getting in, replaced brakes, fuel lines, radiator, but for basic transport it works fair. By far the best truck I've owned was a 60's vintage International Harvester Travelall. Looked like hell, but ran good and had heat and air. Replaced king pins & brakes, had to have custom fit mufflers & pipes done for it and it drank gas like a camel takes on water in the desert, but there was no killing the thing. I ran it for 3 or 4 years hard, sold it to a friend who used it for his plastering business for a few years and he sold it off for a profit to a metal scrap junker and it was cruising the alleys for at least 5 years hauling scrap. Next one will probably be a Jeep of some sort unless I can find another International for cheap.

I had a 99 4runner with 230K ONLY thing that was ever replaced was 1 starter, and 1 waterpump, other than regular stuff like brakes, I wheeled that thing hard, every weekend. BUT when it comes to who makes the horsepower, thats got to be ford chevy or dodge, well toyota gots the new tundra, that thing is suppose to make some power.
