Hi folks. I am James. A bit of a nomad, I grew up in Delaware, lived most of my life in Maryland, and spent 2008 in Georgia. Now I live in Bradford, Pa. I am separated and would like to converse with anyone who plays music, either for fun or profit. I play drums, guitar, harmonica, and some keyboards. I also compose music and dabble in poetry.
Love the people here in Pa...hate the winters, lol.
This is one of my poems...
Trees
In the distance, snow covered trees mourn the loss of their leaves.
In contrast to the pale blanket which surrounds them they stand, silently yearning for spring, when they can be green again.
Then the birds will built nests in their arms,
and the squirrls will play tag round their base.
They will once again bend in the wind,
and wear wet green moss like lace.
But for now they must stand and wait,
for the winter to finally be done.
Once spring melts the ice from their branches,
they can be joyous and bathe in the sun.
This is another darker poem I wrote called
"The Visitor"
I think I saw a glimpse of you,
when I was just a child.
You may remember I was ill,
my fever had run wild.
I saw a shadow in the dark,
the fear welled up in me.
I closed my eyes and looked again,
but nothing could I see.
You come to call on everyone,
you take away their breath.
I guess that's why they still call you,
the Dark Angel of Death.
One day you will be welcome here,
when I grow tired of life.
I'll greet you as I would a friend,
and you will end my strife.
Till then please keep your distance,
even though you hear me sigh,
for I still have some fight in me,
I'm not prepared to die.
