It's not about parties anymore, it's all about corporations and who they can bribe. My dad was a staunch Republican and would rant and rave about the Dems and I would sit and go WTF?
It's all about US and not an alliance of sorts.
We all know it's about personal agendas and the good ol boy system. Strom Thurmond did a lot for this state and he was in for so long he was a powerhouse in the armed forces commitee. Got us a lot of money for stuff that we wouldn't have gotten otherwise.
We have always had state of the art Air National Guard, but we also have a Nuclear fuel plant 7 miles from it and the Atomic Weapons plant here as well as the Nuclear dump. We also have the Naval Weapons Station where they assemble and load Atomic weapons for Nuclear Subs too. we have the first Nuclear power plant and we had the first nuclear powered ship, USS South Carolina.
Should change our states motto they put on license tags to "Smiling Faces, Glowing Places." or the "Nuke State."
Hell they dropped an Atomic Bomb on my hometown practicing for Hiroshima... glad it didn't go off... yep we trained Dolittle's Raiders here too.
I like to think it was because he was a good person and not because of his party affiliations and seniority. Makes ya wonder where this is all headed.
It is supposed to be about what is best for "all of us" and not just the big corporations interests.
Right?

I too think for myself. Not sure it is good for everybody that some states get way more than they pay in. Also do not think that the constantly rising taxes should be used to buy votes. I thought Thurman was gonna die in office.

notice how the independent thread has more replies than either the dem or rep ones? thats because those people are too funfkin stoopid to see what it is we have already come to appreciate in this country, that its funked up from our very own 2 party system. people eat the shit up when the words "liberal" and "conservative" are thrown into the mix. but i believe more and more people are waking up to the scheme of 2 party democracy. we should not have to vote for a lesser of 2 evils. its still evil.

how bout chess? does anybody like chess? were supposed to talk politics from an independent view point. is that even possible? one thing i do know is that there is a ton of geo-political activities going on across the whole world... talk about any of those things. post something you find interesting and so what if you only get a reply or two. big whoop.
