Disagree. You might be the nicest, happiest, most giving person in the world and still get creamed. I do believe though, that if you hurt people or make other's unhappy, your own heart will never know true joy or freedom. A person that chooses to seek thier happiness, weather knowing or unknowing, by crushing the lives of others will also have a sad tortured soul. They also, will never understand why

There are life experiences that are part of our growth, however since I started leaving my life following the karma rule, it has been a much happier, accomplished, fulfilling experience. Looking at the life's lessons using a positive approach, gives us a better understanding of ourselfs and others.

Every religion or belief system has a name for Karma. I call it "Karmels" out of respect for my Christian background, which intensifies the principle..."the sins of the father are visited on the son"
Theologists seem content to leave it at planting apples expecting to pick peaches...
I personally prefer to hedge my bets and not piss off any system that directs positive behavior to your fellow man (long breath)
I agree.

Do you know that you cannot create energy , you just move it from a form to another form.

However if you do something good to people , that doesn't mean you will get paid for it immediately but God is watching you from the above

" And not alike are the good and the evil. Repel(evil) with what is best, when lo ! he between whom and you was enmity would be as if he were a warm friend"

Karma is you get what you give!

I live it, understand it, experience it, hope for, trust in and believe it daily!

I am grateful I have INSTANT KARMA...that being I have no build up of KARMA that is going to come bite me in the butt someday. When I do something with bad intentions or with an inappropriate mindset (hateful, jealous, etc.)the universe calls me on it within moments. It is usually, for me, simple as running into something nudging me to wake up! OR the WAKE up call happens by having averted a REALLY BAD happening which reminds me to keep things in perspective, in effect reminding me to think about what is most important.

You get what you give. It's OK to be assertive and direct. It is not OK to be vengeful or hurtful. If one lives with respect for others and tries with good intentions to act in a loving, understanding, compassionate manner life is EASIER, and overall better.Whether that is KARMA, the universe working in perfect ebb and flow, or just the golden rule playing out accordingly... it, in my experience, just works makes life easier. So I choose not to ask how...I just allow, and go with the flow.

Namaste

Karma means nothing to me personally because I don't believe in a mythical force (religious or otherwise) that dictates I receive "x" positive or "y" negative out of life because I choose in one instance, or series of instances, to be "good" or "bad".

I'm nice, until you demonstrate that you do not deserve that niceness.

I'm respectful, until you demonstrate you do not deserve that respect.

I'm forgiving, even if you are unforgivable. That is more for my own peace of mind than anything.

Do I relate this in any way to Karma? No.

Who IS the Dalai Lama? He is the current religious leader of the Gelug school of Tibetan Buddhism. The Dalai Lama is believed to be the rebirth of a long line of tulkus (a being who is consciously re-birthed to fulfill their vows and attain Buddhahood) , who have chosen to be reborn in order to enlighten others.

I equate the Dalai Lama as something like the Catholic Pope, the successor of St. Peter who is to ensure access to the benefits of the Kingdom of Heaven.

Eastern thought, western thought, who's to say one is more "stupid" than the other? That's kind of a very narrow point of view to have. "Western" thought has apparently provided the ability for you to join this website, login to this forum, and tell us we're stupid.

I'm going to jump right on in here..

Number ONE.. both of u are wrong!!! western train of thought or eastern/// This was my land, and my ancestors land long before any of you thought to think ur religious, or non religious viewpoints.

Whether there is karma or not..would be a personal interpretation of how one views the world and how one treats others and wants to be treated by others.

In my Culture we treat each other with respect and honor those people, animals or inanimate objects that we live with, and among.

There is a beginning and a end.. its up to us of how we choose to walk the path/

Well that's great and I respect your culture/beliefs, but I must disagree on one point as I fail to see how that makes either religious/non-religious thought of western or eastern origin "wrong"?

Neither Western or Eastern would apply in North America..As the indigenous people's of this continent did not believe in either. Western thought,,, is a white man thing..not Native...

So in other words.. you both have invaded and brought your religion and ideals to this land!

Those very same religions and ideals slaughtered my people by the thousands..Christianity killed many many children..and there is still no apology from the Church's for it.

At least Eastern Beliefs, cultures and religion ,, were not as into "killing" in the name of their GOD as The Christian doctrine is...

Western thought..did not provide for one to join this website> Invader thought did<,,Western thought> decimated the indigenous people of this land!

I have never put much stock into the idea of karma. Sure if you live your life in a good manner then yes good things will happen. But I dont think there is some kind of supernatural force that dictates that. Dont believe in the idea that life is just a scorecard with checks for good and bad behavior.

well for every action, there is a equal and opposite reaction....

good karma i think comes with decisions being made for the long term effect...

bad karma comes when you want things from life to quickly, making bad choices...

for example going to school to get educated...you dont do it long term wont look so good

but if you get that degree and made the choice to finish school life is alot easier...

or......much smaller example...

wake up every morning to a cup or two of coffee...you find yourself making it a habit...

if you never drank coffee you wouldnt have to have coffee everymorning...in a life time of buying coffee thats alot of money!!!

I dont believe in Karma, Fate, Destiny or any other ideaology that states there is some supernatural force that governs my actions in life. I try and live my life in a good and rightful way. The only person I think that effects is me, and maybe the people i come in contact with. Example: If I leave a waiter a BIG tip, does that mean that I have done a good deed and there fore worthy of a good deed happening to me. I will say that I go with the theory "do unto others as who would have done to you" but in itself that is not karma its just being respectful.

Karma isn't good or bad it is the energy that you as a person choses to share with the world positive and negitives But doing a good deed in order to think you can control what will happen in your life dos'nt work energy flows as it will and comes back to you in its own good time. So all the things that you have done in a mean spirted way would be considered neg energy and the things that you have done with a loving hart given with joy is a positive energy. Releasing energy into the world around us touches many more and has
a greater effect then most people realize. If you cause havic on anouthers life and in turn they cause greif to others it is still part of your Karma the same with positive energy it can grow into something wonderful or terrible. It travels and eventualy will come back to you. Karma is not to be comfused with destiny or personal choices

Bad karma: coincidental (bad) events that happen and one associates them with wrong-doing. Related to guilt.
Good karma: The opposite of bad karma. Good things happen; one associates them to something they did (usually for someone else) that was a "good" thing.

Mostly coincidental

I feel that Karma is a state of being. It can be good or bad- some people can have bad vibes that constantly have drama and stress. Some people have good vibes that carry peace and serenity around them. I also think that our life is already planned out= we are just walking the path. JMO.

How you live your life is how folks will treat you.
If you are kind, most folks will be kind to you.
Other than the person who decides to mess you up.
When that happens you will be repaid (hopefully),

Karma is never ending......good thing will happen because you are a good person. That does not always mean thet if you are bad, that bad things will happen to you. There is a higher chance that you will come back as a less then desired being/animal/energy. Karma has a sleazy sister named Fate....She will hunt you down like a Mormon missionary with an Am-way dealership. Karma is the nice sister, Fate is the troubled teen.
So, always do the right thing and there will be no troubles from that family. But always keep in mind that they both are universal.(he says with a bit of irony in his voice)
sweet dreams
