UGH too hot! I was just in Port St. Lucie, got up in the morning around 5:30 a.m. and outside it was already super-muggy and close to 80. I don't mind 80 at all, but you can have that "air you can wear" humid junk, don't want it!
All the more reason to stay in or on the water. I love saltwater fishing and dream of owning a charter boat and being on the water everyday. You would get used to it, we didn't have a summer here this year. So much for global warming.

It's my imagination, and I'm sticking to it!!!! As a Master Gardener , I am perfectly aware of the need for changing seasons, IN THE REAL WORLD.
I can wish anything I like. Just WISH I had a magic wand
PS Some seeds require a forest fire to germinate, but nobody wishes for that!
I'm no master gardener, however I was born on a farm in Germany and have gardened most of my life. (THIS YEAR HAS BEEN THE MOST DISMAL) And, perhaps, masochotistically, I view each season in anticipation of the next. having spent time in a tropical place, I like all my seasons.
and yes Sequoias & redwoods, among others, need fire to survive & continue

I hate to disagree, but Fall is better snuggling weather than Summer - almost anywhere - at a picnic in the park, under the sheets, on the couch watching a movie, walking back to the car from a romantic dinner out.

I LIVE to disagree
SUMMER is so much better for hanging out in the yard at night watching stars, great for catching rays and working on your tan, love the windows open wide and listening to the birds serenading me, watching the flowers grow from tiny seedlings to beautiful big plants, going OUT for ice cream and enjoying the coolness of its effect, wearing less clothes (skin is in), doing less laundry, eating from the garden or the farmers market, seeing the bluest skies on the clearest mornings, and going barefoot as much as possible with red polish all shiny.
These are a few of my favorite things...... raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens

I often wonder why people who complain about the cold don't move to a much more suited state(Hawaii, Florida, California, Arizona)?

I the 4 seasons ... Spring color and renewal, Summer's long daylight hours and being outdoors, Fall's beautiful color and getting back to hearty foods and football, Winter's crisp air and snow days.
Seems Winter is a little too long for me sometimes, especially in January & February when the sky looks like wet cement most days ... perhaps it is what makes Spring so beautiful.
Don't know if I could live anywhere where there weren't 4 seasons ... never boring for sure.

What I enjoyed about the time I lived in the northern Adirondacks, during the winter, is that if the skies were gray then it was snowing, if the sun was brilliant, and the skies clear or nearly clear, it was cold, but beautiful to behold, and walking on the lakes was a surprise, most steps elicited a cracking sound, even tho the ice was over a foot thick, and could support a truck w/o breaking

Within the last couple of days, there have been a number of flocks of geese flying South already. The leaves are starting to turn and starting dropping....is this the sign that we are in for a early fall and a in for longer winter?... Don't usually see these sign till about mid October here in central Pa.

Chek, not in any way qualified to answer that question, but to add to that mystery, the horsechestnuts, (NOT ALL) have already shed their leaves and began to grow new ones, meanswhile the red maples and walnuts are almost bare, and catching up are the cherrries, apples and pears.

<~~~ wondering if our rainy summer may have something to do with it ... lack of sunshine, etc. I noticed even in August many of the leaves were just dying and not changing color. Lot of color now though.

WOW! What a coincidence, I heard that playing too!
Stumppy, I hear you on your Swallows, I miss my Hummingbirds
They were at my window feeder everyday, all gone till next year. But at least the bear will quit slurping down the nectar, that was a shocking sight

NEVER LETTING GO
© By FRANCES MCHANEY
When I see you've grown old
And wintertime is not far away
I want to warm you with the embers of my love
Spring's not far behind
And the raindrops will turn back time
As the summer sun sparks my reflections of you
And they will never smolder
My teardrops will cease to fall
As the autumn leaves adhere to the trees
Though wintertime is imminent
The mountains will never be capped by snow
For the warmth inside will do away with all memories
Of pain and suffering forevermore
