Think about the part of the world Jesus lived in. The mix was egyption, roman, jewish, african and middle eastern. If he had been wealthy would he have ridden a camel or an arabian horse? When I see art depicting him with long blonde hair and blue eyes I wonder why the artist didn't get a hint from the bible as to his possible appearance.

Thats called artistic freedom or soething like that an artist has the right to do whatever he wants with his artwork. I agree though Jesus would not look anything like what most of the artists depict him as, in fact there is biblical evidence that a lot of the characters in the Bible are not as most artists would depict them. Unfortunately they didnt do sketches and statues of Jesus back then because he was not a king in the Earthly sense so noone knows what he really looked like. And I guarantee you that the pictures of his crucifixion were nowhere as clean as artists depict him. He would be covered in blood and mud, and probably a lot worse. I am not an artist in any way so my depiction of him would not help because he would be a stick figure hehe, so I guess until we find acurate discriptions of what he looked like or drawings of him done by someone close to him we have to accept the pictures we see today as art instead of as pictorial evidence.

Jesus came from the Jewish mother Mary, so he had her characteristics but being a spirt transferred to a human womb, and protected from human imperfection, he had a lot of our father to make the perfection of him.. oh and by the way you had me up for days looking into this , thanks for the mind wave, hope this helps andREMEBER THIS IS MY OPINION....

Ehh, for those that would choose to believe that the Shroud of Turin were really Jesus' burial cloth, I'd say we'd have a fairly good representation of his bodily characteristics. Though I find it very offensive when I walk into a church that depicts a white Jesus.

If you combine the description in the Bible that states his geographical birthplace, the dominant physical characteristics of the people in that region, accent,..............

Ummmmmm, wait, he was called Yeshua not Jesus, so, ummmmmmmmmm......... Yep, most people would say he looks like a terrorist today.............

I don't know what Jesus looked liked, but if you look at the facts, the probability would be that he was more coffee than cream.

And since the Saviour was a "male", he may have practiced present culture of grooming and facial hair.

What does it matter what he looked like, what does he FEEL like??? Jesus is the lamb of God, do you want to argue why not cow, fish, vulture, mouse or anything other..........

I don't care what Jesus looked like, I only care that Jesus looks at ME!!!!!!!!!!!!

Taita: "What does it matter what he looked like"

SCW: It matters to those who believe in white supremacy.
Read their literature.

And I'm NOT just talking about those running around playing war games in the forest.

Common sense states that being he was jewish he would be of "White Decent". Just that fact alone we can guess at what his generic looks might be like.

If the shroud is genuine it also fits the Jewish heritage line.

In the end he was not here for only whites, jews, blacks, orientals, etc. He was here for all. The soul has no color. Are you following a person of a specific ethnic background or the God?

I also now question the "Artistic license" that people have taken over the years. It is unlikely he had "blue eyes". It is also very unlikely he was "Black" as is now the rave.

Does it truly matter though? No. It is the teaching that matters.

Not really. Jewish people weren't always the color that they are now. We evolve to meet our environment. Adam and Eve weren't white, brown, black and red all at the same time, yet we have those colors.

Look at the blackman in America, his skin tone has lightened over the years, and your talking less than 200 years for that difference. With the Jewish people, from Jesus' day until present, your talking 2000ish. Heck of a lot of time to allow drastic color change.
