Man this is tough. I have all kinds of Christmas songs playing on my PC, some fun, some serious, but all of them make my heart ache for people I have loved in the past who are no longer in my life. Sigh. It doesn't even seem to matter that for the most part I am happy and content just being with me for now, when I hear those tunes it brings back so many feelings that I just wish I could sleep until January. It makes it even harder to NOT contact a love from my past who clearly did not want to be in my present.
Does anybody else feel this way? Any suggestions - besides not listening to music?

no idea, same thing, i get depressed as hell on holidays, ever since i broke up with my fiance. Holidays suck unless your with someone, are a kid or have kids pretty much.
Ive just been listening to godsmack, sirenia, various metal and trying to get all raged up and lift weights every time i can which is sadly 2 times a week, our bodies dont heal fast enough, both physically or mentally

My first Christmas and new years in 10 years without him. We havent spoken in months and he hasnt seen our son. I wouldnt be surprised to get a greeting from him at some point. But Im not sure how Im going to feel this year being alone. Definitely not wanting to contact him but just a little bitter.

All normal, I recomend massive amounts of alcohol imbelishment and other risky behavior. If you wind up in jail or the hospital, it will give you plenty to worry about. Really, just kidding, that won't improve quality of life. Instead of watching christmas stuff, try Uncle Buck, and play with your cat or dog. Making people misserable here is fun too!

this time of year is very hard, we remember times when we were happy in life and thought it would never end. Now alone you start to think more which can be depressing, try talking to someone or chating online maybe it will help.

Fortunately I live with my daughter and grandsons. There is always something going on so I dont have much time to think about anything. I do miss a hug now and then but I also have a male friend that has the same problem so when we need that hug we run over to each other and get it out of our system. HIs birthday is coming up so I will have a great big one for him
