 Each union has its own. Among the main contenders would be communication,abuse,neglect,being used (played),infidelity,money,social influences,family,friends and careers. Lots more are lurking I'm sure. Sorry I couldn't come up with just one. I my case being used. I build my life around a lady who wasn't concerned about me. I think the reason for divorce or splits as some call it is simply that they or one are not committed to each other.If you have a true commitment to what ever you are in or you are under taking you can make it work,but it takes two giving and taking to make a union of two people strong.you have to communicate with each other,if you can,t talk openly and honestly then you can,t help each other.If you are committed and able to give for the other then you can weather the problems with kids and kin.And personally i think the man ought to give more than the woman.

In my case it was a couple things. One was that my wife was not really interested in being married to who I am, but to what she thought she could turn me into. When that did not work she stopped treating me decently, and went out of her way to be petty, cruel, and to avoid spending time with me at all. The fact that she had a genuinely evil child (from her previous marriage) who was constantly going out of his way to make all of our lives 7th layer of hell miserable did not help the situation any.

I missed all three of those reasons. Children was a reason "Not" to get divorced.
My reason was tired of coming home to a woman that yelled 24/7 about anything. That and her reflecting. She cheated on me so always tried to find fault in me. That created anger which created a living condition that I could not live with.
And I have to say from my personal survey... I'd have to disagree with this "Money, Children or Relatives" idea. From my experience most people claim they got divorced because they found out their partner was having sex with other people.
So far I have not heard any of those other excuses mentioned.
