there seems to be several people on here that needs a photo before they will thinkof considering talking to a person. i have seem a lot of good looking some not so good looking that has no personality. ive also seem it the other way to a photo just shows looks you dont know how inner looks are til you talk to them or met them. you are still going to have a blind date wheather you see photos or not they might look good but inner sights are wrong for you i think photo doesnt prove a thing.

...no, but a photo helps. I think what many look at first are the interests...my first couple of dates here, I didn't have a pic up, and I missed out on a few good dates, but when the picture was included, the ones that turned me down before, started coming around to me this time.
You learn more about a person by reading what they post,how often they post, and where they post at. Or simply by e-mailing and stating your purpose.
But to see their face, color of hair, hair style, eyes...shape of lips, all these things are important to stimulating a picture of this person of interest in your mind...
...Then ya have people who are dishonest with their profiles,...weight, height....you know the ones....say one thing in their profile and when ya meet them....totally opposite.

I have my pics up cuz I figure if they READ what I wrote and THEN looked at my pics...and DIDNT suffer from violent retching and heaving,and STILL had the determination to write me,why,whether they have a pic or not ,I'm writin' back!,You BET!
I have taken a chance with a few ladies with no pic and happy to have done so in some cases,not so happy in others,Kinda fun to gamble,and yer right ,that is what it is untill (even after) you actually meet.

Most people, (like myself) prefer to have an image to write to. True, I Have been fooled by twenty year old pictures. If you're not planning on meeting face to face and just want an e-mail buddy it doesn't matter whether you have a photo or not. Good luck..........

thats the way i feel bout no photo tuff shit if you dont want to talkto me thats your loss.not shamed of how i look but if it takes photo to talk to people dont need to anyway.think we shouldnt put so much into photos to talk to people my great uncle siad theres no ugly people some look better than others,meaning not out side looks that makes difference.

Well, I think having a photo makes a person seem more approachable. Plus, it gives a face to the words on the screen, and that helps online communication seem a little more personal. At least, it does for me. I've also "talked" to people without a photo, and that was a good experience, too. But, for me, it's always nice to have a face to go with the name.

personally, i like a photo, but they can be misleading. people have been known to put up old photos or even borrowed ones. since i am not a "trophy" woman, i get suspicious when a gorgeous man writes to me. that sends up red flags immediately. why would a man with movie star looks and forbes 500 money be looking at a bbw, plain jane? it makes me wonder if they are for real. so far my gut feelings have proven true and these people have turned out to be phony. a photo is useful to assess if you want to screen for things like tattos and beards or just plain sloppiness. someone else mentioned that it helps if you are meeting since you have an idea who to look for and i must agree with this

You may be right, photos don't prove a thing but it sure gives a bit more reassurance when you are looking to meet someone. Yeah, yeah, I'm not an idiot, I know that person can be anyone on earth and not the person in the picture but it may be truly be that person. In my humble opinion, I would rather see the picture. Usually if there isn't one, I don't even talk to them. However, my favorite person I've ever met on here, didn't have a picture so.. don't listen to me

well i can see where a photo might make it easier to spot person in meeting. but its clear onone wants to talk with out photos so how you going to know if you want to meet or not if you dont talk first. the person might be what you looking for but never know if you wont talk without photo seems like nobody wants blind date.a friend of mine went to meet lady one evening they knew what each looked like do to photos. when he arrived she saw him coming in door went out door he saw her leaving said he would never post photo again.so kinda looks to me like bull to me.

I've talked to a few people without photos, and they seem to be some of the nicest people on here. They might have legitimate reasons for not wanting to post a picture, and I can respect that. However, it would be nice to put a face with these agreeable personalities. I think it's (from my point of view, anyway) the need for a sort of reciprocity. After all, they know what I look like, and it's only fair that I can see what they look like.

well today i discovered another reason not to respond without a photo. i agreed to meet a man based on email and phone conversations. according to him and his profile he is mostly native american and irish. when we met, i discovered he was anything but native american. he is african american!! this does not mean he is not a perfectly good man, but i choose to date a caucasian. i would never even agreed to meet had i known his true ethnicity. i probably would not have even responded to his interest. i have no problems with those who wish to date all races, but i don't want to do this. i am not a bad person, but i think i should be warned in advance. in the future i will not respond without a photo.

This happened to me, when pictures posted turned out to be 20 yrs old lol and the guy I'd met looked like his father, comparing to the picture posted. But, I still keep faith that someone will happen to be honest and post their recent picture. I am not actively looking, though. I am currently taking a break from dating.
BTW, every day's Joe is just fine, providing a few extra features of course. No, don't ya start imagining. It's not what you think lol.

Phina is right, take pride in what you do as you should. Without farmers we'd be chewing on plastic bottles after all and I hear they are not very nutrishious.
You know your last post made a lot more sense then the first one, I really don't think the no picture is the big deal. It's more your (forgive the wording) self defeated attitude. And negativity is very unattractive.
Remember you are not the only one that hasn't met their match, there are tons of us here that rarely get messages and even less that have the potential to leading to a meet or more.

the self defaeted attitude comes from trying to talk with some on here that seem to shut a person out.glad to see there are some peolpethat still think we need our farmers, but why is it that when lot of ladies find out im a farmer they run and hide never to hear from them again.one told me i was one of those people, her remarks made me wonder if i should continue or not. thats why i started out the way i did ment no harm was the way i felt at the time still wondering wheather to stay or not. really got tired of hearing that if theres not aphoto your a bad person a liar cheat up to no good.if thats the only thing that people look to see if theres a photo theyll never find out what kind guy iam.

I do not speak for women, but we men are visual. I am visual. I like to see the woman with whom I chat. What I find attractive at 56 is much different than at 36. I marvel at the men my age still obsessed with 20 something or 30 somethings. I do not want a woman who is 50 but looks 30. I have lines in my face; everyone over 40 has them. It is evidence of a life lived. Women of substance are beautiful to me. Like everyone, I have preferences in physical appearance. But mine are different than other men. That is what is intriguing and exciting about life. So, when I see no picture, I lose that excitement. I also wonder if the woman is secretly married using a fake name to keep it from her husband. I have through my work met several who were doing just that.

Some photos are not perfect but atleast give u an ideai of what person looks like. An yes it is better to write to someone who has one. An it is alot Easyer now days to get pictures on ur computer. Used to be u had no scanner u couldn't do it. No excuse now. Plenty of ways.

I USUALLY do not reply or look at profiles with no photo,and like Bob,if you are NEAR to me,I WILL look,if you have NOTHING at all filled out AND no photo,I sometimes send a smartass,(who?ME?NEVER... )type e-mail,dont get a reply USUALLY,every now and then I do. I DID take a chance once and wrote to a lady in a distant(1 hour away)city,with no photo, and I will tell you right now it was one of THE very BEST things I have EVER done!
