I have come to think, when men get to their 70, they are either couch potatoes or are looking for 50 year old gals.
Maybe to take care of them in their old age. Check their profiles, and you will see they don't want to associate with people their own age.
Myself I was only looking for a friend, not a lover or husband.
I have decieded I like the friends I have, so I mostly only lurk and read, when I feel like sitting down for a bit.

I can't speak for other men in their seventies, but I've listed looking for ages of 65 to 75 in my profile. I would like someone who wants to climb mountains, hike deserts,wade in streams, walk a 10K, stroll on beaches, and generally see this great country of ours. My daughter-in-law says I'll never find someone in that age group who wants to do that. So she says, look where you can find them and according to her that is in the 50's and early 60's. Also, I would never ask anyone to take care of me. I've done that, and I would never put that on anyone...

I caught hell from a gal here for answering just that way in an email once.
As for this ol man, I am too set in my ways, too ornery, etc, to change my life style.
( unless she looks like Dolly Parton and has all kinds of money to spend on me!!)

You are the kind of friend I was looking for, only in my area.
I like being outdoors, I still hike, we have mountains here but no beaches. It's hard even to find people in their 70's who like to walk. My kids also say I'll never be old. I can do anything that they do. I do have a good life.

Most men look for younger, but find they those gals later want a younger man . so back to square one,, me I`d like a good friend to hang out with go fishing enjoy walks, talks, just simple fun things and see where it leads.

Definetly DO NOT want a young woman. Want a companion around my age range. I find a lot of women in the 60 to 75 range are satisfied with their status, not really interested in companionship- " sigh ".

I'm in Florida for the month of Feb. Would be great to meet women for coffee, lunch, etc.- discuss the area. 2 weeks in titusville, then Kissimmee. Hopefully find a week around Bradenton. Want to investigate being a snowbird. Know any rentals in the Bradenton area ? Live in a 55 + community that has rentals ?

Don't put a number on "older"........it is really just a state of mind! Have met several mid-60's or so who are "older" than I am! Five years either way seems to be a pretty good rule for me.

Hey Walks alone- I hear all these stories re women in 55 + communities bringing all kinds of food to the guys. Not sure I believe that. Anyway , not looking for a harem. One compatible woman would be great.
Last year visited the " Villages " in Florida.The other guy wanted to check it out. No way- very big population, plus a lot of hiv. 2nd childhood ? Not for me.

I don't know if other men have a guideline or not. I've been the fifties route and am not interested in trying that again. I have female friends who are in their fifties but that is what they are friends. As a general rule I prefer someone no more than five years my junior. in some cases I go two years older. As for how to meet men in their seventies. Get involved either at your church or get into a volunteer organization. Quite often you will meet single older men there many churches have singles clubs some are for seniors. Good Luck on your search

Char check craigslist florida. I like the kissimmee area and farther south...lakeland, lake wales,frostproof that area. You can buy a manufactured home in a 55+ community very inexpensively, just watch the lot rent...some are way high but many are reasonable....good luck...wish I could afford to buy there.
