Yes it can be really scary I won't even put a picture on my profile . I would rather take my time to get to know someone first before I send them a picture.
Don't be afraid to let people see your profile they can only contact you on this site unless you give them your personal info. Just take your time to get to know someone.
I have been on this site for a few weeks and except for a few bumps at the beginning there seems to be some very friendly people here.
Good luck .

Welcome to the Canadian site. Good advice has been given. I enjoy the 50+ group even though there has been some emotional turmoil lately. They are the most active group with posting and threads. I've been here since January and have met many new friends. Hope you enjoy yourself as much as I am. Please be careful - there are a few wheeler and dealers, usually you can spot them within a few e-mails. Some try to get to Im on yahoo after first contact. Just take your time, if you are uneasy about anyone just ask, usually someone can help

Go slow is about the best advice I can give you. Just use your common sense. There really are some nice people on here. But there are also some real hum dingers as well. Need help don't be afraid to ask.

Don't be afraid, follow the interest threads and participate. That way you have the opportunity to see someone's personality before making contact. Our Ontario site is beginning to have more local participation. We just have to be patient, I guess. But people who check out the site and don't see anything of interest or if there isn't a variety of posting, they'll just move on and not add their input. The only way we'll have more Ontario people is by making this site an interesting place to come. So thanks for starting your thread, Golden, and good luck in your search.
