I am a retired special education teacher, who has been widowed for 6 years after a 23 year marriage. I have natural salt and pepper hair, blue eyes and a fair complexion. I consider myself to have an average build, but like many people my age, could stand to lose 10 pounds.
I am a classy but conservative dresser, whether wearing casual or formal clothing. I enjoy reading (daily), music (not loud) and creative activities (quilting, sewing, knitting, painting etc.) I would like to take a wood working course. Also, I enjoy camping in the summer, hiking, and gardening at home. I thought I might take up golf as there are so many courses in my area. I volunteer at the local soup kitchen and for Cancer society. I sit on the local Museum Board, and am also active in the church. Family is very important to me and I have 2 adult sons and 2 granddaughters. Although I do not see them as often as I would like too.
Looking for a long term relationship, starting as friends with common interests and letting it grow from there. Do not like liars, people who exaggerate, or belittle others, abusive, game players, the takers of this world ,etc. I like to surprise my loved ones with notes, cards, gifts, etc.
I would not permanently re-locate outside of Canada because it would effect my pension. However, I would consider living part of the year in another country. To me this would be another adventure.
I am looking for a person who is kind and considerate, who knows how to give and take in a relationship. Some one who is active and likes to do simple things - taking a bike ride, hiking a trail, relaxing on a beach or just taking a walk.
