This evening my teenage daughter had an Honor's Jazz Band recital that I insisted the entire family attend. I even called her older brother and requesed that he come over to our house so that we could attend her recital as a family, and so we could all go out to eat together afterwards.
My three younger children were talking amounst each other and I overheard their conversation. My 10 year old daughter and 11 year old son were both grumbling because they didn't want to attend the recital. Pretty soon my 7 year old son says to his siblings, "I want to go!" They both looked at him strangely and asked, "You do?" He said, "Ya, Mama said that this is going to be a recital for middle school and high school, that means there's going to be high school girls there.... and high school girls dig us little guys! When I go places with (named his older brother) and there's high school girls there, they always pinch my cheeks and tell me how cute I am!"
When my oldest son arrived, I told him that he is forbidden from ever again taking his younger brothers with him if there's going to be any high school girls around!
My daughter performed very well in her recital, by the way. She plays the flute, excellently, I might add!

Thanks... I was beginning to wonder if anyone even read it. I got a chuckle out of my son's observation of high school girls though.

Hey Kathy I was there too My son plays the trumpet (7TH )
Missed you again we'll have to have a get together when the weather opens up at Indian springs or High Falls..I think the kids will enjoy it....

They were really good that night, weren't they? I was impressed with them and their instructor.
My daughter told me that they earned 2 exellents and 1 superior at the competition they went to last week.
A picnic at one of the parks sounds good! We'll do that.
