Best way to figure that out is to get some samples from the store and try them one at a time on your skin. Ask your female friends which one they like best and go with it. Every cologne smells different on every person, because of body chemistry.
So you won't get a cut and dry answer here. If someone tells you to wear a certain cologne, chances are it's because it reminds them of their ex and you prolly don't want that!

All kinds. I'm way into men's cologne and body washes and deodorants. They smell so good. The way a man smells can totally turn me on/off. You HAVE to smell good to be with me. I really like Brut and Axe. But those are the only two specific ones that come to mind right off the bat. I'm a sucker for anything with a nice scent, and if the man wearing it is decent-looking, that's an added bonus.

hmmmm..... I have to say I am stumped as to the "best" one. I HATE, HATE, HATE axe!! Gives me a headache. Because of body chemistry differences... go try 2 out, one on each arm and ask a few female shoppers which one they like. A day or two later use the best one and pick a new one. By doing this you can find the one that fits your body chemistry and might even get lucky finding a date!!!

The best thing to do is try them on. Our own personal body chemistry makes colognes and perfumes smell different on us than on others. You have to be able to stand your scent so don't just get what others say you should wear. Try out some of them and see which ones get the best reaction from the ladies and go with the most popular one. A lot of women have very pronounced ideas on AXE. AXE can be overwhelming, especially if used right before meeting someone. It should be applied and let to settle in before tackling the world. It is one of my personal favorites. But Brute and Stetson also run a close second.
