My dad and my brother hate that have tattoos... my dad only knows about one and tonight he found out about my tounge ring because my mom said something.. and my brother hates all of it...
They think it makes me "wh*re-ish"      
I think it is because they are more "traditional"
 They Drive me nuts.
Just wondering why kind of feedback you guys get with tattoos or piercings..
I like mine and that's all that matters to me.

I like mine too. I don't care what anyone tells me it is my body so tell them that. You look cute with your piercing.

I have never gotten negative feedback from any of my tattoos. My family is also more traditional. But it doesn't matter what everybody else thinks about you or your body. As long as you are happy in your skin, then love and embrace who you are.

yea, I get some stares sometimes and I have even been told from people that they dont like them. I dont care though.

My brother says he hates tattoos and piercings yet.. he's had his tounge pierced.. and he has a tattoo and his last girlfriend has both.. its kind of dumb. But oh well.
I love my tattoos and cannot wait to get more. I wouldn't have it any other way  Thank you all for your feedback.

ya...brothers are just like that...I have two older brothers. And they tell me not to do all the things that the girls they date do. Kind of Ironic huh? Your brother is just probably just doesn't want to think of you as a woman. JMO

I have two brothers and they are both older than me as well..
They both drink.. sometimes smoke ... and have sex.. I think.
But if I would do ANYTHING that's not "baby-sister" like .. they get pissed.
I'm human too.. and its not like I'm 13 or something.
I completely understand where you are coming from!
Double standards?

I've never had anyone say anything negative about mine. I don't have much at this point tho. My left ear is pierced twice and I have 2 tats, one being a ring on my left ring finger I got to replace my wedding band which I kept destroying at work. Of course now I'm getting a divorce so placement is an issue......I will not have it removed simply because I like the tat regardless of where it is or why I got it, tho. The other is the Chinese symbol for eternity which is another one my wife and I got but I have plans to make that into something not related to her at all by adding the zodiac symbols of my kids around it. I have big plans for 2 more tats at some point. I'm just waiting for the opportunity to get them inked.
My parents have voiced their opposition to tats in general but have never said a negative thing to me about mine or the ear thing either.

I have 8 tattoos and one eyebrow piercing. Several of my tattoos are visible. Reactions vary - but I did not get them for the rest of the population of the planet...I got them for me.
My body is a temple and I will decorate it accordingly.

I got mine for me, so other people's opinions are irrelevant in it. I'm not done with it & may go back & get a couple more-still working out the design details.

I guess I don't care much. My tattoos are significant to my life and I love body art.
Plus body art is more mainstream, now. Hang in there!

I have been called a wh*re because of my tattoos but I really dont give a damn what people think about them. If I wanted their opinion about them I would have asked. There are a lot of people that have started conversations because of them, just to find out the story behind them. That is the best part, knowing what story is behind them. Its mostly the older people who are stuck in their ways that complain about tattoos. The world is becoming more colorful now days, and tattoos are becoming more a part of the norm. I will never get any removed, they may fade and sag as I age but I will enjoy them now!!

Funny thing is...some of my family originally did saying that they are trashy and would never get one. Most of those same people all have several!
