Modern day society woman doesn't value this things as majority used to back in the day. The only way they listen to them is ether in songs or read it in books. Regardless, some are different and those are the good woman, the ones deserving a good man. So, why do they fear their own feelings? And when good philosophical and poetic verses come out of a good guy, they make themselfs to not believe in the truth, but to believe in what they think is. We have eyes to see and ears to hear, yet some of us only have awareness of the mouth. My question is why?

Can't speak for everyone else but I love poetry, my most favorite poems come from men. Granted a lot of girls are into musicians but what is a song if not poetry put to music. Billy Corgan, John Lennon, and Jim Morrison all wrote books of poetry!

No. The way you perceive the world should be expressed in every way possible and is one of the many reasons why I'm going to start writing it again once I'm finished with the second season of my series. Some people have artistic expression, while others lack it, so they try to downplay it because of their own inability to write. don't get discouraged by it at all. Just continue writing.......gamer

umm...gee, i dont know, why dont you ask will shakespeare..? Yes, conservative macho society is awful and so are the many men and women who criminally purport it , and the tv commercials claiming "Men are back," and say..."he'll 'pass' on poetry"...it is all terrible, but dude, is that really a sincere question...? A poet would not even ask that question, he would just cry and lament the state of our current superficial society, and know that real poetry must come out. And its a discipline, its not just writing an abstract whatever bunch of sentences...work hard and "Be alll you can be" with your poetry if you even want to claim to be a poet someday.
P.S. Shelley would have kicked your a** for asking that question...so would have Walt Whitman. And Robert Frost...

Mmm,,not exactly...some of these you mention could be poets, but pure poetry is different. And just writing words does not equal poetry. And poetry is not just your feelings written down. Some poetry has nothing to do with your feelings. its a skill that has to be practiced, not simply romanticized and trivialized.
And this 'poet' didn't even check to spell 'opinions' correctly...

I enjoy writing poetry when it comes to me. To me writing poetry makes me more manly because I can show people 1) I'm well educated 2) I'm well mannered and 3) I'm quite the romantic with words  my poetry is more Christian poetry because I'm not so lucky in the love dept. with the ladies right now.

Yes, poetry by men is just for weirdos and pansies!
Just kidding, why would it be bad? Self expression is a good thing, just like painting or music , you might even make it into a song if you put it to music if thats your thing. When I have felt bad about a situation, writing lyrics/poetry really helped me get through it because putting it down in words helped me get it off my chest. Keep writing!

I'm always been heavily into Robert Frost, but I try my damnedest not to write like him.
I write poetry and lyrics, always have and yes, they're 2 different things although if I need an idea I'll steal from one or the other and make it work for my needs.
I'm more into the arcane though. I try to keep them short with a repeating central idea that gets whatever point it is Im trying to get across, I don't want to write the next Rime Of The Ancient Mariner.

Write poetry some to most of my time. Can only be considered bad if you let other dictate whether it is bad or not. If the creative writing is within you to write poetry, why keep it up all bottled inside. Pointless if you ask me. So it isn't bad at all, just means you're able to communicate your thoughts differently......gamer

Men that write poetry are looked upon as wusses. Women look at the man behind the poetry and not the poetry it'self. If it is in a book or song maybe. Do you think a woman is going to be thinking about poetry if the guy is sitting there looking so hot to her? It is what it is. I write poetry but reading it would take one special woman that loved it and appreciated it. Many just are interested in the Man behind the poetry.
