In the grand scheme of "life" that includes atrocities and natural disasters such as cyclones and earthquakes, losing your job pales in comparison. BUT - I've changed careers several times and am questioning my choices again. Any of you make any drastic recent career choices and feel able to offer advice? I'm open!

i've had my day job for 4 years, and my night job for 7 years. i love them both. just find something you like and stick with it if you can. i only work for 7 months out of the year, which is a plus. i got lucky i guess. good luck and take care

I happen to have spent the past 20 years in the same profession, senior level executive search, and am often asked for career counseling be it for a candidate or to give a talk to a group of executives. Today, unlike our parents, people change CAREERS 3 times on average. That's not jobs or companies, I mean CAREERS. So don't be discouraged by trying many different employment opportunities because you are multi-faceted and multi-talented. I would really have to meet you to get to know you better to finish this correctly.  HINT!

In addition to changing jobs frequently, my first career started with the MBTA. I was a greenline driver and gave it up after the birth of my last child. My second career started almost a year later.
