How much they cost these days? I can't have a dog or cat where I'm at and I'd really like someone to come home to. Checked online, all info shown just pertains to cages & acessories for them, not the actual cost of the bird

Hi rickie...I don't know the actual cost but if I remember correctly they are not expensive for the bird itself. Cages and such is where the cost lies. I think it would be so worth it though. Birds are beautiful creatures.

here you go, Rickie.
21.99 is pretty close to what most pet stores sell them for sometimes petco has petco pals sales on them for 12.99 thats what they were when i got mine i worked at two pet stores and both sold them for 19.99 they also sometimes vary in price by the color type petsmart usually does vet work on them and they are kept healthy so you might pay a little more just enjoy your new bird they live around 12 years with proper diet so you won't need to buy another for awhile.

Keep in mind males have blue on the upper part of their beaks and females are usually pink or white. Males tend to be more social and learn words quickly. I had mine saying full sentences. Females will "sing" more and will be more vocal musically. Good luck My sweetheart lived about 9 years I miss him very much.

I bought my finches two years ago for 25 dollars each at a bird store, what cheery company they are!
I do recall buying a keet for 15 dollars at local pet store last year. Try to get a matched pair, and what
lovebirds they are! If you stand in front of the cage and watch, you can see which birds are paired off.
We made the mistake of buying a 'male and a female" and they did not bond. When the male passed
away last summer, we got another male, and they bonded, and what a difference, they groom each
other, sing to each other, so try to get a bonded pair.
