I'm 56. In some ways I've been 40 since I was 4, and in other ways I'll be 18 until I die, even if I live to be 1,000. I'm looking for: friendship, companionship, romance, and sex, and would prefer an ongoing relationship to one night stands. I'd like something that could grow into something more serious later on if the match is right. If you'll take me as I am, I'll take you as you are. Personality, sense of humor, and some compatible tastes/interests are more important than your: age, size, shape, weight, scars, wrinkles, hair color, etc. I'm not rich enough to rescue you from a life of work, and I can enjoy being around any kids you may have...as long as I can get away from them now and then, too. I'm not looking to become an Instant Dad at this time, but may give it some thought a ways down the road. Whether you are 18, or 88, or something in between, doesn't matter...as long as you are legal, and competent. I like most music-except Rap/Reggae/Hip-Hop/Heavy Metal-and I like movies...especially older ones. I enjoy PBS, A&E, and the BBC. I collect gemstones, and dabble in photography, magic, and writing. I enjoy travel when I can afford it, and have someone to go with. I've recently gotten out of a relationship gone bad, and am testing the waters for a new, and better, relationship. Casablanca is my favorite movie. Red Dwarf is my favorite TV show. P.G. Wodehouse is my favorite author...though I read a bit of everything from Jane Austen to Edgar Allen Poe. I drink very little-mostly with meals-and don't do drugs. I'm: romantic, gentle, and non-abusive, My income is low, but stable, and slowly growing. I don't have a car yet, but will have before too long. I enjoy The Three Cs...Conversation, Comedy, and Cuddling. I've dated, and gotten along well, with women who were younger than I, as well as with women who were older than I am. It is women my own age I have trouble with...mainly because I am not into the drugs, and such, that they often are. Then, too, it seems to be mainly women of my age group who are so into the "innocent victim syndrome"... where they claim to be at the mercy of other forces/people, and have no control over their situations. Nothing is ever their fault...everything is either: a mistake, an accident, a disease, or someone else's fault. I can't relate to that, as I accept responsiblility for the choices I make, and expect others to do likewise. I will help, and advise, those who earnestly want help, or advice...but I'm not ' The Whining Wall ', so I won't listen very long to whiners who do nothing to help themselves, and who only seek phony sympathy from others. Sob stories are a dime a dozen, but I have better things to do than to spend my life listening to them. I'm looking to live, rather than merely exist.
