Date is much older than his profile by ellencfe at 1/18/2015 4:41:17 PM Have you ever met anyone from on line whose profile said that they are much younger than actually is. I met this guy from this site. His profile said that he is 57 and and retired? I decided to met him because if I want; I can retire this year after 30 years of service with the Federal Gov't. Anyway, I met this guy for dinner and he surely more like he is in the 70's. His picture is at least 20 years old. When I asked how old really he is, he told me he is 68. He also said in his profile that he goes to the gym everyday, more likely he goes to an Italian Restaurant for Pizza or pasta both lunch and dinner. If you really are sincere in wanting to meet that someone try to be honest with your profile. After all, Statistics for retirement purposes noted 78 yrs old for men and 82 for women. Why live the few remaining years of your life in a make believe world. This guy was telling me about the different retirement checks he received. He must have thought that those pension checks would make him more attractive or desirable assuming he was being truthful. I guess in the past it had worked on other women. Anyway, if I may sound rude here, my apology. Did I tell you that this guy's teeth need some help. My thought to myself is: if you have all these money why not have your teeth fixed. Thanks for reading and would like to hear from you.

I worked 2 yrs for a man who was 70...kept saying marry me for my benefits, no obligations...i was ya right. He told ppl as I pushed his 345 lbs around that I was his significant other. Especially to men who smiled at me. Last I refused his proposal...was fired. life is too short people! Say who you are and be happy with who you are...or change that! Do you really need to see that look of disappointment on that womans face when she sees you have deceived her? sorry...wound up today! Lol

geleen217	1/18/2015 5:28:51 PM In my opinion pics or photos can really be deceitful ....but there are some people who really put a picture of them ...taken long time ago....and so with their age and profession also .....but for me .....i knew that perhaps they have a good reason for doing these things.....so for me i always give the benefit of the doubt .....to all people hee....who did those things......just saying .... @ Op
mtrctylady	1/18/2015 5:29:03 PM Had a similar situation. This local guy told me he was 6'1", which I love because I could wear my heels -- I'm 5'6". When we met, not only was he 5'6" too, but his pics were more than 3 years old. All of mine are less than 2 years.
happyladyme	1/18/2015 5:29:14 PM @ellen...Excuse me but that is rather too old for retirement ages for mena nnd women unless they choose to wait that long. I rather doubt if too many want to wait that long to retire. lol IMO wouldn't it be better to address this issue with that man then on here?

In the Federal Gov't you can retire at 55 (Civil Service Retired (CRS)old retirement system) if you have 30 yrs of service that equates to 60% of your salary (pension for lifetime.) Because I did not work with the Feds until I was 30, I am on a different retirement system called (Federal Employee Retirement System (FERS) I have to be 60 before I can collect my pension (annuity) without reeduction. Then, at 62 I can start to collect the Social Security benefits if needed. Also, with FERS employee ONLY we can start collecting 80% of our pension at 60.
thepatriot1776	1/18/2015 5:55:34 PM On line dating is all about looks everyone wants to be atracted to someone. On the street is no deferent there must be instant chemistry. You know within seconds if a person is or not for you. Most of us are picky. Its the whole pakage that sell us.

I politely told him, I hear of what you told me, however, I have to find out it for myself which I did. Of course, the system allowed me to changed it. I was trying to change so it would say that I am already 60 )) So glad that some of us ladies who are already an official members of AARP can still wear 3-4 inches heels
ellencfe	1/18/2015 6:10:12 PM The Patriot, unfortunately, some of us became single not of our choosing. I Had a great marriage unfortunately cancer changed all of that. Yes, I am one of those picky ones. It would be nice to meet someone as we matured gracefully, however, I had came to terms that if it does not happen I am OK, I have a job that I enjoy, have lots of friends to do things with, and have a family who loves me. I have met some fine men, however, they were not for me or I am not for them. Why settle for less than desires.

I work for the government to.I plan on working as long as my health is good. Ive talked to guys that have retired and there advice was dont do it. If you love what you do, like I do. its my hobbie not a job. People dont wait until retirement to travel and have fun. Tomorrow may never come. Enjoy the now not later.
ellencfe	1/18/2015 7:37:44 PM Glad to hear that you also enjoy your job. What I was thinking is come back as an annuitant if I need to. Due to several retirements in my agency, I was asked to stay with a perk of course. Couple of our retirees have been asked to come back, with the same Grade and Pay, no step increases just cost of living allowance. I have been traveling and continue to do so when I can and if I can. Anyway is this what I learned. Materials things are good to have only if you are healthy enough to enjoy them and have someone to enjoy them with. Other than that, it is just a material. The other things I learned is this: Don't wait to do the things you always wanted to do tomorrow is not promised and times waits no one.
