One man divorced his wife after she left him 5 yrs before after only living together for a year. California granted her alimony and that many years % of his 401k. Now she had already cleaned out the bank accounts before she abandoned the marriage. So his solution was to "rent" her half his home for most of what he had to pay her.... ya, some women really suck...but so does being married and divorced in California!

They had been divorced already 4 years, he lived in a basement apt of the home both for financial reasons and easy access to be in the lives of the children they had. After several months into mine and his relationship, she got pregnant with baby # 3. Yes it was his. No I won't go through that again.
