My first stone fireplace that I built in 1972 however these photos were not taken until about 1977. My father had hurt his back building the heart of this fireplace so he asked me to build the stone exterior of it.

This is one of the alpine lakes that I enjoy hiking to. Yes that is the last of the winter ice floating in early July. Other alpine lakes at higher elevations often do not melt enough to go fishing in until late July to mid August. These are known in the Western USA as Conica Morels, not to be confused with the Eastern USA variety of conica, these are western fire morels. This morel may not be worth a hundred dollars but it was worth that to me for the thrill of the hunt and photographs that were taken. Oh me, well that photo was taken in 1992. Hunting gold nuggets in Arizona, winter 2002

Sometimes it tries to snow on me while hunting morel mushrooms in spring. Fishing in Alaska 1982 Helping my younger brother by building a brick mailbox stand, 2002. This brother had not grown up working with our father in the masonry business and he was only ten years old when our father died after a lengthy illness. Getting ready to set the final stone in a wall, about 1986

Talking with my eldest and youngest sons at a Thanksgiving Holiday family get-to-gether, my daughter is in the background and my other son is taking the photograph. I took hundreds of photographs of morels during the summer of 2006. I shot this blond cluster on August 28th and I photographed the last fresh morels of the year on September 12th if I recall correctly. For those who have difficulty believing that wild morels grow so late in the year, understand that I have been researching these mushrooms for many years and was still shipping them fresh into October during 2005. A nice cluster of gray morels that I photographed during summer of 2006.....YUM.....

A Thanksgiving day poto-op with my children. .....just a few small nuggets that I found....
